You are right but since we are talking about drag race here I was talking about being superior in the power department. I am not convinced that a 6MT G80 would do better than a 6MT F80 competition in a drag race.

In the carwow video the F82 is jumping ahead and the G82 had a real trouble even catching up, and in the Joe Achilles video the G82 left the F82 in a dust even if they had brutally shorter distance at their disposal (less than 300 meters)! Also, it is 100% confirmed that the green F82 M4 was tuned, and every single objective measurement is showing that the G82 is considerably quicker car (it is even faster than the new RS6 on the roll and is walking down on the new Carrera 2S!) |

Thank god the new one is faster and more capable... But you also need to filter out marketing BS and check the actual difference in performance if possible from multiple sources, it's not always as big as marketing wants us to think The AWD version will probably bury everything.

The fact that the G8X has a better power-to-weight tells us it is the faster car. However all these videos do not give a true appreciation of the acceleration difference between the two. They are just click baits.

The 911 S is .4 quicker to 60--lighter and rear engine. It loses half of that in the 1/4 and if the run was 1/2 mile, it would be eating the G82's dust. The RS5 will get the jump--AWD off the line and lose by 2 lengths in the 1/4. In a 1/2, it would be left for dead. 50 punches in 4th, 5th and 6th clearly show this. I'm not knocking previous M's, but to question the new car's superiority is sour grapes. No high performance car maker is 'ever' going to bring out something slower.
