Thanks to this thread, I used my ventilated seats yesterday in the middle of winter. Even tried them together with the heated seats. The better half - who is obsessed with heated seats - thought I had gone a bit nutty. But it was pretty awesome, so now I’m a 12-month ventilated seats guy.
4 thumbs up, especially for $350! |

100% no brainer for me as well. I will say, you can hear the slight hum of the fans when they are on and music is off. Took me a minute to realize what it was, not a big deal but sometimes I love a silent cabin.

Still quieter than Chevy truck cooled seats. First time I turned them on in my 2016, I thought something in the drivetrain had failed

When you get the vented seats, does this change the colorway of the seat? It appears that the color of the seat becomes solid with the ventilated option.
I hope the color of the seat stays the same. |

I concur. Living in South Florida it's a must have. Both Range Rovers I own have them. My corvette does not. I can't drive the vette more than 30 minutes without my back being sweaty by the time I arrive.

I sat in both the non vented and vented seats recently. Granted it wasn’t a hot day but I was a bit surprised by what I learned.
I first sat in the non vented seats and they were a 10/10 for comfort. Then I went to the vented seat and immediately felt a noticeable difference. It wasn’t the end of the world by any means, but it reminded me more of my M2 seats than the non vented seat. I’d give them a 7.5-8 for comfort. The ventilation works immediately. If the seat is warm, it’ll cool down instantly but after that, I’m not sure how much more it’ll do once it’s done it’s job. It does seem like a no brainer option but to lose a little extra comfort, I’m not too sure on whether or not I’d want them.

I have them in my G05 so I ordered them for G80. Like others have stated I think there small decrease in seat comfort due to extra layer.
Also just FYI. BMW ventilated seats suck air out. They do not blow cold air on you like in some other brands. I like the option in summer a lot. I have feeling of sticky back on hot day. |

I found the ventilated seats a little firmer than the G80 I sat in some months ago for sure. However, the cooling effect is very noticeable and appreciated on hotter days.

I live in NorCal and got them. Haven't had the car for more than a few weeks and haven't played around with the seats much yet, but still wouldn't hesitate to spec them given they represent 0.40% of the typical purchase price. If you are in Louisiana (or Los Angeles?) as your profile suggests, it's even more of a no brainer.

I have them them and in AZ if I don’t start the car for a good 5 minutes before I get in it in the middle of the summer they actually vent out warm air which makes things worse. I think it is more of a 110+ degree heat issue being in AZ then the seats.
