Front ventilated seats worth it?

Hello, I am currently ordering my car and was wondering if the front ventilated seats are worth it. Does anyone here have that option? If so, what is your input? Thanks in advance!

I have that option. Haven't used it yet (winter in Michigan) but enjoyed them in our X5 to the point they were programmed to activate at their highest setting at anything above ~70°F. I didn't feel air movement (by design), but neither did I ever perspire while driving, regardless of summertime temperature or humidity level.

They're good, not great. It's a $350 option that doesn't cost you anything functionality-wise so getting them is a no brainer.

Living in a hot humid place like south Florida these are an absolute must. I can't imagine not having them.

Got that right. Would not have a car without them.

It was a must have for me -- I have the convertible and ventilated seats are a lifesaver when the top is down -- definitely helps when it's hot out.

If these are anything like the ones I had in my 550, they're a total joke. Imagine sticking a bunch of CPU fans in the back of your seat, do you expect much actual cooling? My SA told me that he uses them with the heated seats to move air around. I'm currently building mine and although I'm in TX, I'm skipping out on them because they were a total letdown. These aren't cooling like the ones in a Lexus or a Porsche.

Porsche has fantastic ones. Audi and Mercedes. not so much. My 2015 F82 didn't have a ventilated option so I can't speak to BMW. I order my G82 with carbon fiber seats so unfortunately you can't get them with that option. If I could I would have.

I'm in the Southeast US and the ventilated seats are descent. They don't blow air out, but rather pull outside air into the seat. They were worth the $350 to me.

The vented seats on the G80 are absolutely worth it IMO. Especially combined with the heated functions.

Nothing better than getting in the car after a workout in winter and have both the heated and cooled seats going.

I was looking to put the preconditioning parameters for the ventilated seats to when the outside temp was 75 or above, but it seems to top out at 68. Does anyone else have a different experience? 68 seems to be a bit cool have those things come on automatically, but I guess everyone is different. Just surprised they don’t offer a higher temp limit.

I've had my car since July 7th in the summer months it's amazing, I even use it during the winter months with the heated seats on so you can comfortable heat you bottom and back without the sweats. Totally worth the money in my opinion.

I activate ventilated seats in the preconditioning parameters at 65°F. But yes, BMW offers a limited range of temperatures for preconditioning seat heating and ventilation and steering wheel heating.

If you're ordering the car, it's a no brainer. It's like $300-$350. Easy click.

like was said, its a no brainer at $350. I personally wouldn't buy without it. You may not notice it very much if you use them everyday, but you will notice it when they are off. for some reason they didnt' come on one day and i felt noticeably warmer and damper. they work by taking out the excess heat and humidity. but ya my cousin has a cadillac escalade and those are cooled seats which are amazing

For me ventilation is a big thing because I always have heated on for my back pain, but when it's too hot out it's nice to have both on

This is by design. The BMW design pulls air away from the seating surface. The Toyota/Lexus blows cold air to the seating surface.

We ordered them in our pending M4 and are happy with them in our 2020 X5.

I had them in my 1794 Edition Tundra and it felt like I was sitting in a shallow puddle of cold water when they were on We had the same sensation in a Highlander Platinum that it is in family.

The way BMW approaches the design/function is more appealing in our personal opinion, but everyone will be different.

Would have ordered them--and moon roof, but bought the car from a Dealer as is. 99% of what I would have ordered, so happy. But for the price, why not? Drive a lot without A/C--no humidity here, in the summer with windows down, so they would be a nice benefit here in Colorado. Heated seats are great.

My wife absolutely loves them. Similar to other posters in FL, they are a must given the humidity. Love the little feature where they are set to come on at a certain temperature. I think they were included in the F95 Competition Package so we didn't feel the financial sting but $350 sounds like a bargain IMHO.

I love mine. As folks have reiterated, these don't cool, they circulate/suck air out from your back. But that's been perfect for me, I'm finally free of sweaty leather back.

I ordered a G83. For me, it was 100% a no brainer, especially at that price.

^^^ basically everything above. For the price, no brainer. If they were $1-to-$2,000 like some A/Cd seats, then for the functionality of these, it would be a tougher box to check.
