iDrive touchscreen deletion

Are these the 6P1 and 6UX delete codes mentioned in other threads?

Currently only impacting regular 3/4/X series, not G8X.

I call genius and they checked my build which is a week 2 build and they said nothing has been deleted. Girl on the phone said she hasn't seen these type of things deleted off any Ms

Talked to a sales guy the other day stating they are doing everything they can to ensure Top of the line cars do not lose this feature. Sales manager for my order confirmed again that my touchscreen would not be impacted and I'm a week 1 build. M340 and below - beware!

Is this i drive w/out touch/writing function?

I canceled a Z4 m40i a month ago on its way to port because of the touchscreen deletion (thankfully, I found a nearly perfectly speced M4 vert at the dealer). The touchscreen deletion on the Z4 did not show up until it entered the assembly line. Btw, it's still at port.

They're not but gotta admit that they're still bitchin vehicles. Had a 2017 340i and it was a blast. New M340i with xDrive would be a grand time since keeping my wheels from spinning was the biggest problem for the torque monster that is the B58.

I believe infotainment touchscreen deletion is only impacting 3 series and not the G8x platforms. Its totally different from iDrive controller touch which is being deleted in G8x vehicles.

There was a guy on FB who is trying to order a G82 and his dealer told him it wouldn't have a touch screen. He's from Canada.

So it looks like it may actually effect the M cars

Eh... Canadians have to wear gloves most of the year, so touchscreens are largely theoretical up there anyway.

Dealers mix up controller touch deletion in M cars with infotainment screen touch deletion in regular 3/4 series.

That SA might have not clue on whats being done in every platform and might be that typical guy.
