It seems unlikely that the cost of designing, producing, and marketing these aftermarket designs, at both a reasonable profit and a reasonable retail price, would be unrealistic. And, then the buyer needs to have the unit painted and installed so add $$$ to the swap.

It might sound good in a forum post with a photoshop, but when it comes down to actually delivering the product... would these really sell in sufficient numbers to do it?
Your assumption here is that it's going to be a cheap bumper. It isn't. Prior Design bumpers for other BMWs range from $1200-1800 without carbon add ons. They charge a hefty price already and likely only sell a couple dozen for each model. Prior has been doing this for a fair amount of time so I'd think they understand the target audience. Hell, they produce and sell widebody kits for ferraris. How many owners do you think actually go through with that?

No, I assumed it would in fact be very expensive, definitely not for he average car buyer and therefore limited volume. More than a few people act like it would be the solution to the angst over the original design but it would indeed be a very limited market and may be cost prohibitive for both Prior and the car buyers.

Not too bothered by the front end but the G82 could certainly do with some side profile work.

Amazing the difference the smaller kidney grilles make! Now the car looks presentable and more in line with the aesthetics BMW should've incorporated into the production version.

I still wouldn't buy it over the F82 though regardless

A couple weeks later and more people have answered that poll, it seems like over half of people dislike or strongly dislike it with the most popular poll choice being strongly dislike.

The real issue is the licence plate

The kidney grills would be easier on the eye if their outline was not interrupted by the licence plate.
If the licence was placed asymmetrically on the left or right side on the number (like a JDM car) the grills would be nicer. I don't puke when looking at the G80, I think it will grow on us sooner rather than later.
I do disagree with BMW designers on their homage on the first bimmers with their high grills. Those cars had tall engine bays that called for the high grills. In today's low CG cars it is hard to force a design that is not relevant anymore.

Deliveries of the cars didn't even start yet. First, they have to get the car, then they need about 2 months for the first prototype. Each iteration adds another couple of weeks. I guess end of this year, beginning of next year is when we can expect full bodykits to be available to purchase (this applies to Prior as well as other brands).

In the mean time just get the M Performance parts, they are quite nice as well.

I see, honestly it looks just as vulgar with M performance parts, so that's a big no IMHO

The off center plates are super boy racer. . . I'm really not a fan of that look. BMW already put that stupid camera thing asymmetrical on the driver's side too. . . I don't think I can hang with 2 dumb asymmetrical "features."

I've lived in two front plate required states and for my entire driving existence I've never had one. I've been pulled over once in 2 decades.... and depending on who you believe I'm a prime candidate for police profiling.

Hell, it took me 2 years to get a rear plate on my M2 because California. Only putting one on after the state finally gave dealers the ability to roll cars with paper plates.

Don't NJ cops have better things to do?

None of these are feasible because they move the adaptive cruise control radar.

We are seeing a bunch of aspirational art here by people who don't understand the principles behind the design or the engineering implications of what they're changing.

They aren't sitting on lots here in California. They are selling with ADM. You guys can continue to act like the cars aren't selling, but that's just the syndrome talking.
