Same here.. I like the G80, design-wise, but that weight gain for the manual is pretty disappointing.

why did they use the base pre LCI F80 M3/M4 for photo comparison?

looks so much worse than LCI updated cars.

5 inches bigger, 500 pounds heavier, 5000 times uglier front..... oh and performance numbers that are the same? Basically?
I'll keep my F80 comp thank you. Looks like Porsche in my future.

G8X is the best looking Lexus I've ever seen.

F8x does look quite dated side by side but still not excited.

Would love to retrofit the digital speedo and seats in the f8x though. this should be fun stealing the good pieces off the g8x's

They cheaped out on the rear brakes.

Performance seats in M4 look pretty extreme..what's that hump thing on the crotch? looks like it could be uncomfortable.

Hopefully it sounds way better than the f8x

It's definitely going to be faster but I'm surprised the figures don't reflect it a bit more. For example the RWD M340i is rated at 4.4 while car and driver were able to get 3.8. So maybe this will push into the low 3's but just surprised it's not advertised at 3.6 or so.

Interior is definitely on point, especially with those CF buckets.

10% more horsepower ... and 15% more weight? (and I note they are comparing the G80 comp to the F82 base)

That seems like a schoolboy error.

Also *really* not enjoying the shouty BMW marketing videos. What demographic are they targeting? (I'm guessing people who own the entire box set of Fast & Furious)

I like the wheels on the M3. If it fits, I might purchase them for my silverstone f80, just to switch things up.

What makes the F8x look dated? Only thing looking dated is interior but is that new news?

Compare an f8x to anything else on the road except honda's boy racer line of everything and does it look old?

As a previous M4 owner - This is just sad. One of the main reasons why I sold my M4 and moved to a 911.

Weight seems a little light on the OP for F8X. But yea I'm with everyone else didn't think the gain was going to be that large in weight. I thought BMW was moving to lighter cars after the weight drop from E9X to F8X, guess not..

I could live with the DCT to ZF
I could live with the exterior design (so I want to believe at this moment since I used to hate E60 and ended up owning one)
I could live with the lower Redline as opposed to the S55
Not sure if I could live with that weight gain, I felt the F8X was large enough

M Division = Moar Division

I think this reinforces the decision to get a Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.

How on earth did it put on so much weight over the F8x? I get like 200lb, just safety and emissions stuff. But 500 effing pounds?! WHERE?

Funny I was just thinking this. The Alfa has a pretty gross face as well but it's grown on me a bit. After seeing the G80, it's an easy choice now. Makes the Alfa look much more cohesive and thought out.
