No Good Silver Paint Option

Currently have a MBB g80 m3 and love it. Flirting with the idea of ordering an X drive m3.

What I've noticed is there really isn't a quality silver individual color. A buddy of mine recently purchased a Florett Silver metallic RSQ8 and my god is it gorgeous. I know MBB was not an individual option and yet my dealer was able to get the color approved. Looking for something BMW offers that is closest to Audi's Florett Silver. Any suggestions?

MBB is considered an individual color for the G8x, so not sure why you said it isn't.

If you are looking for the ultimate individual silver color from BMW you could go with the Pure Metal Silver option…it's gonna cost you though.

That a beautiful silver! MBB is not on the g80 individual color palette. I was able to get this approved, but again "technically" this is not an individual color. Thanks for the Pure Metal Silver suggestion!

Isn't Pure Metal Silver like $10,000?

While true, it still had the individual price tag I bet.

Have you considered Brooklyn Grey? Looks silverish to me

Sounds about right. There is a video somewhere talking about it being the most expensive individual color BMW offers.

I've seen it in person. Very cool color but not what I'm after.

Audi florett silver really is the best silver. It's like a flash of light at all times. On the G8x, Skyscraper grey is the best you're going to get. It's basically a dark silver or light gray and is quite elegant from all the pics seen. Very nice color but not florett.

I was going to suggest Skyscraper Grey as well...have not seen it in person but appears slightly dark in photos, it doesn't seem to have that brightness the OP is suggesting.

Will BMW do Hockenheim Silver as individual? Or was that am exclusive color for the M2?

Hockenheim looks very similar to BG

They're pretty different in person. Hockenheim is more of a whiteish-silver, while Brooklyn Grey is more gray than silver, and darker in comparison to Hockenheim. Skyscraper or Oxide Grey would be the best silver options without going for an individual color (although I haven't seen either of these in person)

My local dealership had a Donnington Grey X3M Competition for all of about 5 minutes a few weeks back.

Absolutely stunning and far more silver than grey.

Not sure if Donnington is an option for G80/82, but it would be my choice of 'silver' if available.

I see so many older BMW's on the road in silver yet it seems BMW is going away from that color over the last decade. It seems to be a general automotive trend as the charcoal grey colors have largely displaced it.

You just took delivery of a (gorgeous) Individual Marina Bay Blue M3 and now you're lusting after a different color?

Man, grass is greener, huh...

If you want something different…

Brewster Silver - Code RDB (Long Shot, but worth submitting)

Or

Cassiopeia Silver - Code W85

hahaha so it would seem. I largely agree with the consensus on pro/cons on awd vs rwd and what would give the driver the most value depending on their lifestyle. For me, I don't really see myself tracking the car very often. I also live in south Florida and see a lot of value in awd. Owning the g80 rwd, it's evident that it's hard to put down this kind of hp to just the rear. I love my MBB, just keeping my options open. Also have a great relationship with my dealer and can probably get a build spot for an awd. I wouldn't take a hit financially being in a sellers market, and wouldn't pay above sticker if I did in fact order another.

Thanks for all the silver suggestions! Definitely helping me out.
