Standard seat for me as I'm not a track star.

I don't recall not being calm? We all have different opinions. In personal experience, I'd think differently of a sport seat in a Suv versus a sports car. To each their own.

Thoughts on the OG M2 sit compared to F8X comp seats and M3 comfort seat?
Genuinely dislike the og m2 seats and wish that I had the f8x seats in it. I don't think the seats are terrible but they lack support when going through twists and turns. Also don't think they're the most comfortable after driving for 2 hours.

To each their own. If you don't find the Porsche carbon seats comfortable then these probably won't be your choice either. I don't find the Porsche seats extremely comfortable but I don't mind them. I say try the seats out for yourself because the adjustability does help quite a lot.

What does the phrase "general peasants in the wild" mean?
Laymen. Lemmings. Non enthusiasts.
Gotcha.

I'd identify as an enthusiast, and I'd probably opt for the regular seats unless they're really not supportive.

I'm not doing track driving and I'm not into a dick hump, even if it made out of CF. Not going to pretend this 4 door M3 is a track monster, at least not for me, since I'll prob just be using it as a daily especially since I want it equipped with the manual (non comp) car.

But I will say that (IMO) most people, enthusiasts & "peasants" alike are only buying these seats bc they're a CF option and look "cool".

But I def want to try them out before forming a final opinion, but aesthetically, I think they look way too gimmicky and kinda cheesy.
The hump cover comes off for a racing harness connection underneath, in case that helps with the perception. I'll have to sit in one to know if that gets in the way or not.

This thread falls under the pre introduction somewhat useless things to argue about but nonetheless I read the whole thing and commented anyways out of boredom and anticipation of the new release category of posts ... now standby for my intermediate level track driver review of the shadow-line trim on the bottom of the car !

I'd say the f80 seat is in the middle of these 2. I've always found the f80 seat to be supportive but not extremely comfortable. Both seats are in polar spectrums but the f80 seat is definitely a happy medium, but I think it leans more towards the carbon bucket. If that makes any sense.
Are your referring to the F8x standard or competition seats in the comparison above? Personally, I have felt a big difference between the F8x standard vs competition seats. (Depending on what the intended purpose of use is) thanks

Aren't the standard seats in this M3 the same ones from the X3M?

if the seats are anything like the X3M then go with the buckets style ones. I found the X3M seats very uncomfortable for a 200lb guy like myself.

A review that is the opposite of any other review of these seats. Did you do any driving in them or just sit in them for 1-2 mins?

Also out of curiosity how do they compare to the og m2 seats?

Having sat in both completely disagree with OP's entire post. The standard seats for the average person will be very supportive and are extremely comfortable. The lumbar has a high degree of adjustability and should definitely hug you well in place.

Unless you plan on tracking or want the cool factor of the CF seats they are a waste imo. Regular seats will be tremendous for spirited driving.

More substance soon, Chris Harris has one right now but says there’s an embargo for a few more days. We’ll see an eruption of content and reviews shortly, hang in there...

Wow. I so diagree with this comment. I appreciate ProdigyM2's perspective... and if I were buying a G8x, I'm 90% sure I'd get the standard seats b/c I would daily drive the car just like my F80.

If you're offended by ProdigyM2's comments that the regular seats are for people who want something comfortable as a grocery getter, that's not Prodigy being pompous, but you being a bit insecure. Not really sure why you'd feel that way though.

Like I said, I fit in the grocery getter demographic. I've never taken my F80 to the track and find that the standard F80 seats are fine for occasional canyon carving. Reading Prodigy's review makes me feel like the standard seats probably fits my needs more than the carbon buckets. This is because I'm paying attention to the details of his comments and taking them at face value without any perceived slights or inferences. As a result, I don't feel less manly or looked down on for concluding that I'd probably lean towards the standard seats after reading Prodigy's comments. Obviously I'd want to try both myself before making a final decision.

But, WTF do I know? When I look at 911 GT3s, I would never get carbon buckets even though everyone in the Porsche world thinks it's sacrilege to get any GT car w/o them.
