I'm saying I would be happy with 700 wheel, but after modding cars for over 25 years, we always want more. I cant tell you how many times I've bought a bigger turbo, only to want one even bigger in 6 months. I went through it with DSMs in the 90s, and again with Evos. We're never happy.
Bro most wouldn't get it I try to explain the DSM / Evo sickness but you had to live it to understand it 🤣

100% I had it bad. I had 6 DSMs and 3 Evos. I probably wouldnt have been that heavily into it, but it was back in the Buschur Racing/ Extreme Motorsports days. I lived in the DC area, and Extreme was in Maryland. I was too close to all of the madness. There were so many DSMs in that area.

As someone noted, the car wasn't even started--much less driven, dynoed, etc. I would be very interested in seeing actual proof of concept. I do wish them the best, although much of what his posted statements were seemed convoluted--including "requirements" to go forward.
I agree to an extent. I think the idea is that you cannot change those numbers unless you have full access to the DME. The actual tune would be considered the easy part
There are a few ways one could cleverly make such a video.

Until the car starts, runs, and drives - and it is verified that the ECU being flashed is the original one supplied with a '21 vehicle, and that it has the latest protected Bootctrl and ecusecu versions (4.00.02 and up), it didn't happen. Period.

560HP gauges are in other BMWs - changing them to 960/960 as a proof of concept, with the validation mentioned above - would make me a believer. Without validating everything mentioned above - it's smoke and mirrors.

We've had all of the factory S58 data for almost three years now. Certainly would be nice to actually be able to use it.

Any updates? Patiently waiting for Bootmod3 or MHD to release or even give an update. I have a G82 M4 Competition XDrive ordered so I got lots of time to wait anyways. Like someone mentioned above if this engine was in the Supra the "unlockable" ECU would've probably already been cracked hehe.

The ECU has been cracked by Femtoevo (supposedly) but so far there are no tunes available and who knows how long until BM3 or MHD become available.

Probably the driveshaft, I watched a low 10 second X3M at the drag strip yesterday break theirs on a launch.

Here's a photo of the carnage.

I'd imagine its using the same drivetrain components as the G80? But the weight disadvantage would be a problem. If the driveline is stronger in the X3M to make up for the weight of the vehicle, and theyre interchangable, we may be able to put them in the G80 platform.

Driveshaft sizes could be different

I don't think the stock transmission will be able to hold 1000 rwhp. I'm not too familiar with the G80 but it sounds like the same or close to it compared the hellcat.

I blew my tranny in hellcat. I did have to put a one piece aluminum driveshaft to avoid what happened to the X3M.

The stock trans will definitely not hold 1000hp reliably but if you get it built at PURE Drivetrain Solutions it will. I believe I saw they built one capable of 1400hp already for a G80. I though I saw that Hellcats use ZF Torque Converters as well or if that just the track hawks?

Than I will not be pushing this car too 1000 rwhp. There's always two things I always said when I mod my vehicle I will not make. The engine and the tranny. That's the reason why I didn't purchase the M5, heard the motor can't take much more than 700-750 rwhp?

Curious how much power this tranny can hold…

That's not good. I didn't know that. Then I can't imagine this tranny being able to hold more than 750-800rwhp? The hellcats tranny was able to hold 900-950, 950 was really pushing it.
