WOW is all I have to say to the G80x
This car is seriously bonkers! For the size and weight this car handles like a dream and the acceleration is unreal. Definitely exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s scary how fast this car gets up to speed without you realizing it. My question is, how do you guys stay within the speed limit when this car is just begging to be pushed. Most of the time I’m barely stepping on the gas pedal and I’m already passed the speed limit fun but frustrating haha

For me, the speed limit warning helps me keep things in check.

…Just think of the financial ramifications of getting a speeding ticket in one of these cars (and also the shame / embarrassment of getting pulled over for juvenile stunts). There’s no mercy when driving one of these. Besides, they are not that fast in a straight line considering there are electric cars that can do the 0 - 1xx party trick all day. The fun is in the corners, which a lot of EVs can’t do.

I just got a speeding ticket a couple weeks ago (and learned nothing) so I’d say I’m the wrong guy to provide answers
Ahem

Waze is my friend. Use exit ramps as short race tracks.

Waze + Radar Detectors (except in a couple states) + maintaining awareness = ~95% certainty you can push the limits.
There's always the chance that a roving cop might spy you, however. Cops in motion are the biggest threat, such as driving down the road and changing their camping locations frequently which pretty much defeats Waze. Fortunately, that's a lot more effort than most, except the most dedicated/motivated, are willing to put in regularly. It's a constant battle...and honestly, probably part of the fun, until you get caught. Good luck and have fun! |

I’ve always seemed to get use to the power I have. That’s the worse problem ever. Drove to Dalessandros in Roxborough on Sunday to get some cheesesteaks. Took the GTR on the way up then swapped with a buddy and drove his 23 M3 X on the way home. It’s DP/Tune/E30 and felt slow. Then when I got home, took out the F-82 and really felt slow. Moral of the story, drive the fastest car last.

Go to Willow Springs. That's a good place to find the car's limits ... safely ...

So I drove down from Savannah, GA to Miami to pick up my GF who got stranded at the airport. I drove through the night and as soon as I crossed the state border, I start seeing cars fly past me and I was doing 80-85. By the time I got to Miami, I felt like I was bogging down the traffic doing close to 90. |

Yea used to have the M2C. If I could have kept it I definitely would have. However wifey wouldn’t let me to compare the 2 I would say the M2 is a more raw go kart like car you just get in and zip around town. No fancy screens/tech just you and the car. However for a daily it can get old fast. The G80 I would say is just a better overall car. Seats are a lot more comfortable interior is a lot nicer more space and the ride quality is better and that definitely helps for a daily especially if you have kids. When you want to have fun just switch it into one of your M modes and the car turns into an animal. Doesn’t feel at all like you’re driving a bigger heavier sedan and I would honestly say it’s more planted and compliant than the M2C which I didn’t think was possible. I know a lot of reviews online say that the new M3 feels numb and soulless but for me it fits my lifestyle better with the family. With this car I don’t feel like I need multiple cars to satisfy my driving needs however Im still saving for a 992 GT3 and use that as a weekender.

I occasionally see moving police using Instant On too. So yeah, the best detector is your situational awareness and not getting too greedy and speedy. |

Depending on which options you got with the car you can set the Speed Limiter Assist to the speed limit or any allowance over you want. It will limit the vehicle speed to that regardless of how far you step on the accelerator. The Cruise Control will you go over the set speed if you step on the gas so that doesn't work that well.
