Just put my order in last night. Can't wait to ditch the squeal and have less brake dust!

You install yours yet? Mine came in a few days ago and I've been to busy to look at them. That and I still need to buy a jack and some stands. I think I'm going to go the Bimmerlink route when I do.

I did! I ended up using Bimmerlink and it was a piece of cake. This is a good video someone did of the process. Very straight forward and easy to do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrBiTNc8dDk

The new pads feel pretty much the exact same, if not a little better. Zero noise and best of all, a fraction of the dust. Well worth the price just for the lack of brake dust. You will like them.

I have a new to me 22 comp xdrive that came with the is2000f/r. I have no idea how the stock pads felt, but these feel great in the limited street time I've had with them.

I will be driving from GA to AL to do a trackday April 1st @ Barber. I run in the advanced run groups so I'll let you know how they do. I'll be running a bone stock car on PS4S's and just a brake juice swap to SRF.

Curious to get your take. If these can stand up to occasional track or HPDE events, it would just add the cherry on top.

IS2000 works for street and some track. If you need more for the track, then 2500 may be the needed bump. I personally don’t think you need more than 2000 on the street, even for high speed braking, but that’s just me. Everyone has different preferences.

Since you are in advance group, I wouldn’t recommend it.
I do recommend at least IS3500.

Of those options, I'd definitely go Bimmerlink. When I did our Audi last year, I used my Foxwell NT530 scan tool. It has an EPB function, so I just enabled that, listened to the motors wind back for about 15 seconds, then changed pads as normal. When done, disabled the EPB function, the motors whirred back into place and all good. I'll do the same for the G80.

^^^ I think you were trying to be facetious, but it doesn’t take 15 min for the EPB servos to dial back. Lol

I’m only saying this because I know somewhere out there there’s gonna be one person on here that will go to do this and it’ll only take a few seconds and they’ll think something is wrong. 🙄

It definitely doesn't. I did a test run the other day at it was a few seconds to wind out and then a few times wind back.

I'm doing mine today, so I'll report back once finished.

He did say it was 15 min on his Audi, not BMW. 15 min is a long time but, even if it took 3 min, I bet it felt like it was 15 min.

It doesn’t take 15 min on an Audi. 🤣 You hit Go on the service process and the servos back off in a few seconds. I have done this many times in my S4. Some of you guys…. 🙄

Just did the swap today. Pretty straightforward overall. Bimmerlink make the rears a piece of cake. I didn't even have to compress the piston. Fronts were actually more of a pain just trying to get the pins lined up.

First impressions are WOW. Squeal is gone. Definitely more bite. Brake dust is still an unknown as my wheels are pretty filthy. I'm going to wash them this weekend so I can actually see how it accumulates.

10/10 mod for sure.

Just installed is1500 pads. Pedal feel and initial bite is just like stock. I went with is1500 over is2000 because my main purpose is low brake dust and is2000 is not recommended for track use. I will swap the pads on each track events(2~3 days per year)

I didn't think the 1500s were neither. I thought that was the 4000 pad.

Let us know how they go (or brake)

Sorry if I missed this - but what have you all been using to compress the front 6 piston setup? Luckily I swapped my pads early and didn't have to deal with it, but I probably will next time. I bought a piston spreader thing from Amazon, but it didn't fit the way it needed to.

Any recs?

That's why I said I will swap the pads on each track events. Since is2000 is not capable of track use, I preferred even lower dust pads for street use.

The front caliper pistons can be pushed in by your fingers.

Loosen your brake master cap when you push pistons back in. Also, if you can’t do it by hand up front, just use one of the larger plastic pry tools from an internal trim tool set and it’ll work well too without causing any damage to pads or disc if you’re dialing them back in with caliper mounted. Just push against the pad and use that as flat leverage against the pistons.

Had the IS2000s on for a couple weeks now. ZERO squeal which is incredible. Can't comment on the brake dust as my wheels are ceramic coated and I just did the first wash after putting them on so should know in a few weeks how much better they are on that front. But I got these because of the noise and can say with 100% certainty, they are worth every penny if you hate being embarrassed pulling up to a stop sign.

Yes, 15 seconds. Corrected, thanks for the heads up.
