Update: I'm now on the list at 2 local dealers with $0 deposit. They both said I'm the 3rd in line for an AWD G80 M3 allocation at their dealerships. They will ask for a deposit once they receive allocations.

2nd on list over here as well, just waiting for the call. Apparently there has been no internal bulletins so no dealer can comment on any pricing nor can an order be taken.
Pretty sure writing awd in the comments below on your deal sheet will not turn into an awd model so yeah that salesperson in Toronto is not making much sense.

Apologies for the ignorance here. I've been searching around the forums for information. How do people know there is an AWD version of the G80 coming and a production start date of July? Are these just rumors right now? I've extended my F80 lease a few times waiting for the AWD to be announced, but not sure they'll extend it any further without some official information on this.

This thread is very handy for questions about what's coming next:

https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=901686

Additionally, BMW confirmed in their original M3/M4 press release that AWD would be available summer 2021:

"M xDrive available on Competition models starting Summer 2021"

I talked with my dealer today and sometime between late May and early June the configurator should be available for the M xDrive version here in Europe. That's when I can place an order.

The AWD version is additional ~€4000.

If so, that is more cost than I expected.

Yes that's also what I heard a few weeks ago about the expected price in Germany.

I'm hoping it's $3k or less in the U.S. otherwise I'm going to be really pissed as that'll make the AWD M3C and M4C in a much higher price bracket than the X3MC and X4MC, whereas for all other models including M5C / X5MC this is not the case!

Exactly. I don't see why AWD should cost such a premium. I'm hoping for $2000 but maybe that's a pipe dream.

So the number someone spotted in Belgium last summer was correct.
We then speculated that it will translate to around $3.5k here in the U.S. taken that cars are cheaper here.

If it turns out to be close to $5k I’m out. My build will then push $90k. Too much.

Yeah a tuned and suspension modded G42 M240i will be about $60k and is something I'm sure I would be happy in. I had a 2015 M235i xDrive and other than being down on power I loved that car. We'll see how this all shakes out this year.

I think the 0-60 is significantly improved with the AWD. Maybe 2.9 seconds? And if that's the case, they might try to charge a premium for it.

I don't think BMW will publish M3/M4 0-60 times that are faster than the published M5C/M8C times. The M5/M8 are known to be sub 3 sec cars but BMW publish conservative numbers. I think for the M3/M4 they will say 3.4/3.5 sec but real life tests will do low 3's.

Either way I'm sure they will charge us whatever they feel the market can afford, and yes they will use the marketing game of faster 0-60 to make $$$ -- but anything more than $3k in my opinion is BS!

My analysis

M5C starts at $111,100
X5MC starts at $114,100
--> Sedan is $3k cheaper than the X

M3C RWD starts at $72,800
M3C AWD starts at $??,???
X3MC starts at $76,900
--> If the Sedan is to be cheaper than the X then AWD should not add more than $2k-$3k!

Sorry if this has been covered but is the awd model going to be available for spring orders in the US?

Do you guys think dealers will give any discounts on the initial AWD allocations?

Depends where you are and how popular it is. I got 0 discounts and was lucky to not pay over msrp honestly. I'm in the Bay Area. If you live an area where there's less interest there's always room for movement of course. I had to put a deposit down just to get in line to order.

No shot there will be price haggling on these. Maybe if you're lucky there'll be some incentives...but that's doubtful as well.

I bought new BMWs in 2015 and 2018 from the same dealer. Would that give me any reasonable chance of getting a discount based on loyalty?

If there are any it will be slim. Dan is showing 3% + 500 loyalty on some RWD allocations now.

Can't imagine. At the end of the day they're a business with a hot product that's short in supply.

Honestly some dealers will be jacking up prices over invoice.
