You can do anything for money...and this will cost money, lots and lots of money.

I'd be willing to bet that getting a pair of the OEM seats outside of optioning them during the initial build process would end up costing almost double the initial option price, unless you ended up getting the seats from a wrecked car.

Just look at the prices being charged on some of the individual CF parts that are included in the Carbon Fiber exterior package…makes the package price worth the initial cost if you think you'll eventually want to add some of the pieces later.

Of course aftermarket non-OEM options will probably be available as well.

I'd expect $5000 or more per seat if you can even get one. And you almost surely won't be able to get carbon buckets in Fiona red now or later.

This brings up a good idea though to order CFBs to sell later.

Wow, I can't imagine what something like that would cost. Not only buying the seats, but then paying to have them installed? And what do you do with the old seats? I'm betting there isn't a huge market for them. But as has been mentioned, if money is no object (seems like an entire new car might be less hassle) then almost anything is possible.

Depends if they fit in F series, a lot of ppl will want to upgrade, OG M2 seats were not really well regarded.

Given how expensive the various exterior carbon pieces are vs the exterior carbon pack, I would assume one carbon seat would cost your left testicle + installation costs

I am morbidly curious about what the part cost comes out to be. Could be fun to swap seats as needed. I remove the seats from my cars once a year for detailing anyway it's not that hard 🤷

It would look terrible, but I'd actually like a carbon seat for me, and a normal passenger seat. That way I could have the fun of the carbon drivers seat without getting complaints from passengers. It would look totally bizarre though

If money isn't an issue, for sure you can. I was offered a pair of M4 seats at $5,000 USD right after the launch. Should have bought them.

The CF seat will fit on F8x without modification, as seen here on a M2 Competition.

This is extremely good imo.

Also to those talking about installation costs, it's a seat lol. A few bolts and clipping a wiring harness in.

So two seats represent 1/3rd the value of the car? ludicrous.

Insurance companies must be thrilled. Between the seats and the prices of the M Carbon package it would not take much to total a car if say these things were stolen.

both are good or bad depending on how you look at things. If my premium is reasonable then I don't really care if it gets totaled, l get a new one

Im sure they are. The pic is for reference. Thats from a local dealer. Im sure you can find the parts cheaper by maybe 20% give or take but that is still 25K+ for some seats? Waiting for a crashed car to come up.

Carbon seats pricing etc

I see this being asked over and over again on here. Carbon seat questions regarding pricing etc. Id like to post this up to hopefully end this search. While I know these prices are inflated by a bit from the local dealer Im assuming you could price them out about 15-20% cheaper but thats STILL 25k for the seats.

Hope this helps and ends some of the repetitious posts...

I personally am scouring places like CoPart and UAA looking for a crashed car. Its a matter of time and it will pop up. Id rather pay 30K for a whole crashed car and be able to sell off what I dont want then 25K for just some seats IMO
