Parking assist package driver recorder

Those who ordered this option. Are the cameras always recording even when vehicle is parked? Or does it only record while driving?

Trying to see if it’s like tesla. I own a tesla model Y and it records while vehicle is parked. Thanks

it does not work while parked and you only get 20 seconds before and 20 seconds after an incident, either trigger automatically by detection of an accident or manually by you pressing the button. Better than nothing but not like what Tesla has.

Agree. It a good feature, but only really for emergencies/accidents. I wanted continuous recording so have installed a blackvue dashcam too.

Does it require a SD memory card? Or is it saved to the internal hard drive?

Saved internally but you can export the videos using a USB drive

I am buying the BMW advanced eye in addition to drive recorder. I want protection while parked.
