New Order Timeline
My dealer's somewhat unsure, but my Comp X drive was submitted and accepted this week. What's the estimated time frame some have experienced for the build, shipping through NYC, and receipt at the dealer?

I’d say that’s probably about as quickly as you could hope for but there were multiple holidays during the process. I’ve seen a very large range of times from order to delivery. And if you order an individual color, that will add a lot of time. |

I ordered mine early December, it’s currently sitting at the Port in Germany still. Once it finally does get assigned to a ship it’s about a 30 day venture to the west coast. Then it’s gotta clear US customs and the port before finally being transported to my dealership. So maybe early March for me?

HAS is a port-installed option that's not part of the standard "build" list, but it's a factory option. Your CA would have to work with you to add it, but it's first-party. It's called the "M Performance Suspension".

First step is to ask your dealer or call BMW and ask what your estimated completion date is. Once you know that add 60 days. It might be sooner than that, but that’s a good estimate.

It is all completely variable. Depends what options you got too but most important when and which port you are going to. Mine was ordered beginning of October, was built second week of November, and has now been sitting at port for 2 exact months while others have been loaded and shipped. It’s really luck of the draw some people get them in two months. Some sit at port for two months. I know someone who’s took a full year from order to delivery. Mines gonna be on the Hamburg highway leaving February 9th multiple people at bmw have assured me. That put me at pick up beginning of March which would be 5 months for me

That is extremely optimistic. Port wait time, depending on where you are going, looks to be at least one month now. Bunch of Galveston bound cars just waited almost 2.

Not optimistic, just fact. All documented with port wait times. This was from Germany to port Hueneme and delivery to Santa Clara in CA in under 2 months. Production began 7/10/23 and delivered to the dealership on 8/31/23.
Your SA will have the Status report of the vehicle you have ordered. This will give the specific details of departure and estimated arrival. You can ask them for the screenshot. Pretty simple. |

If you're following the recent delivery threads, the wait at the Port in Germany is much longer. 4 weeks just at port is common depending on destination port. Not saying that wasn't your experience, but it's not reflective of the current situation. |
