The 6MT comes with the key card. I believe it's tied to iDrive Pro rather than transmission.

My guess is it has to do with the 6NW Wireless Charging option. I think the key needs to be on that to work. With the 6MT the charger is vertical under the armrest.

Did you get the keycard with a 6MT? Haven't actually seen anyone who has gotten one with the 6MT yet, hence the question, and BMW is really unclear about it

You have to have a specific option within the iDrive menu. The 6MTs don't seem to have it, but it is not definitive

So is it 100% confirmed that the 6 speed only has a wireless charger in the armrest ? Because I read someone say that it also had a smaller one at the same place that in the Comp ?

In the owners manual it's not 100% clear.

The 6MT does have the space in front of the cup holders (same as comp) but that isn't a wireless charging area, the only wireless charging area is in the center armrest

I was basing it off information from the dealership, but it looks like the manual has cleared that up for everybody.

linked to full leather option.. i only spec'd the extended merino and the knee rest is sadly hard plastic

esp for y'all americans who get the option for cheap, get full leather!

its odd cuz on normal G2X cars I believe the knee rest and the upper door card is stiched in leatherette, somehow on the G8X its either full leather or plastic

i am pretty sure it's linked to the full leather option. I am waiting for the G80/G82 to hit Realoem.com so I can see the part numbers for leather, maybe the cost is reasonable to add to non full leather cars.

I've had full leather on the last 3 cars and the G8X will have it too. Once you've had it, it's hard to go back.

Interesting... I just picked up 6MT with full leather but standard seats, and the knee rest is hard plastic. Was surprised by this because the full leather G80 I had seen in person had the leather knee rests, and I thought this was tied to the full leather option. When I pointed out the hard plastic on delivery, the dealership was clueless. Then they made some calls and said they think it's tied to the competition spec, not full leather. Sounds questionable...

if you look closely on the configurator on bmwusa.com you can see it.

only the comp + full leather gets the padded knee rest. It looks like the overall design of the part is slightly different between the manual and the auto.

Is it the same color on your glove box as your outer seats? Are you sure they gave you the full leather?

Doubt that's the reason because my M340i doesn't have wireless charging and yet I have a keycard activated and is fully functional.
