That weight was incorrect, but google infuriatingly shows that as the top hit. The F80 M3 CS was around 3604lbs. When I weighed my F80 M3 CS it was 3655lbs with a full tank and MPE. I weighed my G82 M4 Competition X-Drive on the exact same scales and it came in at 3891lbs with a half tank of gas. So that’s a 236lb difference compared to a RWD M3 CS with a lighter titanium exhaust and a full tank. The math is too complicated, but it goes to show that the F80 M3 CS isn’t as light as you think it is. Taking all that in consideration, yes, the G80 M3 CS will be heavier than the F80 M3 CS, but only by about 260ish lbs. given it also has the 90-ish lb. X-Drive system, which imho is a great trade off in weight, it’s not nearly as bad as the 432lb difference you posted. I’m a advocate of lighter is better, but given the trend of cars getting bigger and more complicated, the fact that BMW has managed to make the G8X actually better handling than its lighter predecessor, the F80, we should be a tad more understanding. After all, besides the F80, every generation of M3 has been heavier than it’s predecessor. I thought the F80 was the limit on size and weight, but the G80 convinced me otherwise. Time will tell if BMW continues in this direction.

I gotta say, that video BMW M put out is probably the coolest video I've ever seen a car manufacturer make. The part where the car comes flying over the hill is straight . Incredible videography in that video.

How much do we want to bet the CSL will now be what the CS should have been. This trick is getting boring BMW.
M = first edition with things held back. CS = what M should have been. CSL = what CS should have been. GTS? = what CSL should have been. Just go back to the original methodology, and stop trying to rip us off, please? |

Beautiful car. Transmission kills it at this price point for me. Manual or DCT would have nailed it.

It's going to "start" at $250k in Australia (USD$175K) add CCB and on road costs and it'll rise to almost $280k (USD$200K)

Amazing car!
Rear seats are just plain, why not make them similar to m5 cs, sort of bucket and looking way better the standard bench looking

It will be very interesting to see if this M3 CS drives similar to the M4 CSL, which is surprisingly different to a regular G8x.

Wow! Makes our M2CS’ look like the CS bargains of the century. That’s $100k AUD (70k USD) for a 0.1 second to 100kmh improvement, suspension and interior upgrades and arguably a lesser transmission to the manual. It will need to pull an Avatar 2 to justify this. Still, don’t underestimate their engineers at this point (not so much their designers

Great option if it fits the bill. Just 75lbs saved though, hmm.
I’m curious with each CS or CSL released. Why do none of the cars come with what is retailed by BMW as the M Performace exhaust? This CS has Ti and bespoke but is it not a bit damming of that product line it’s never included but other CF parts and steering wheel are etc. (No matter what we think about the aesthetics of the M Performace set up).

At 140$CAD + luxury tax + taxes that's in the 170+ region without PPF etc. it's a full pass for me, I'll just put MP HAS on the 6mt I ordered for around 115k taxes in all included.
