I assume all of you own your cars. Because if you are in a 3 year lease, you are keeping the car mint for the next owner.
I live in Florida, so weather is not severe, so this is not a factor for me. I always lease because I like a new car every 3 years. Never understood the PPF thing, or ceramic coating. On the other hand, high quality tinted windows are a must in this area. I guess it depends on your particular situation. I used to say all the time, "I will keep this car forever". Nope. New car in 3 years. There is always something else. |

I'm way too neurotic to not have protection. But, I'm not going to spend $10k on a full wrap. I am going to do the front bumper/hood.

I’m OCD. Car was bought outright and I tacked on another $7.5k to the budget for a full car PPF(xpel ultimate plus), ceramic coated inside and out (xpel fusion), and xpel ceramic tint @15% all around.

I thought about it and decided not worth it, car will get dinged if you drive it. This wont be the last car I own, just wash every two weeks and DIY ceramic and drying aid and good to go. Garage kept, after a year people say it still looks brand new.
Really come down to how OCD you are. |

What was the point in ceramicing over an already ceramic infused PPF? 😃

This is the 1st time I ever did PPF and I am on a 3 year lease.
I did bumper, hood, front fenders, lights, mirror caps, side rockers, pillars and rear arches. I don't think I would do as much again on a lease. Probably just front bumper, headlights and any gloss black. The pillars and side skirts scratch if you look at them the wrong way. It's probably silly to put that money into a leased vehicle but I was particularly worried about the front and wanted it to look good the length of the lease.

Damn really?! I’m always concerned that drying without a proper hand wash will harm the paint, but I only have about 60% PPF’ed.. guess that’s a plus of having full.

Drove her yesterday “naked” I’ve had multiple PPFd cars in the past, and none were as perfect as the factory beautiful paint. (Edit: I’m not preserving it, for the next guy) This time it’s a “pass” Even with the advancements. If it didn’t yellow and have a life short of ten years maybe I’d feel different- but for the cost? …No. That money would be better spent elsewhere. It’s not like the panels will rust . It’s plastic and aluminum. All previous jobs by so called perfectionists had some inclusions underneath, pull marks, etc. and never recouped the money on selling. I don’t tailgate, and never really on the highway (not a DD) Fair weather car only. Took her out yesterday
