Hey Rux, the awaiting carrier status is waiting for a train that takes you to either the port, or a parking lot. Once you and the other week 25ers are at the port start reading the 193 at the port thread. Not only will it give you very useful information, it’ll also tell you what’s happening to others in front of you so you’ll know what to expect. While some have waited at the port for more than two months, others have cruised right through and onto a ship in a week or two. MOST (myself included) waited at the port for a month, that seems to be the norm right now. It really is the luck of the draw. A good CA is helpful, they can tell you wait times other customers have experienced. Good luck to you all and always remember to keep hope alive, your cars are coming just not today!!

Hey! I’m sorry to harsh your excitement Rux, I could be wrong you know! I’m sharing with you MY recent experience and that of OTHERS on this forum going through the process just like you. I, like many had some delays during my process, a week at awaiting carrier assignment and a month at the port. Whereas last year the longest delays were with stop sales for modules, etc, this year the delays seem to be happening at the port. That being said, not everyone follows the same timeline/has the same experiences. Some lucky bastards (you know who you are!!) sail right through, while others encounter delays, some short, some extremely long. No one has been able to penetrate the reasoning for why some and not others that BMW adopts, but there it is. The little blue dots in your My garage will move soon, only BMW knows when!! Keep hope alive, you’re so much closer than the ‘waiting for an allocation’ folks!!!

No you are right. I forgot about the train and was looking at status code 182 as Carrier assigned meaning ship. No worries. Never special ordered a BMW before. Add to that ordering post COVID bullshit.

This is the 3rd Bimmer I’ve ordered and I gotta tell you as long as you’re prepared to be patient it’s a lot of damn fun! You get to follow the progress, or lack thereof of your personally built/ordered sports car. The anticipation is otherworldly and then there’s the car itself. There are senior forum members, Vj123 and NightWriter that helped me, I watched their progress and patience and figured why not try it!! We all got it bad which is why we’re on this forum!! I’m currently tracking my car by ship every six hours. My wife no longer speaks to me, she just sighs deeply as she passes me by! Keep hope alive!!

Trust me, they’re not going anywhere without you! Same thing happened to me, spent a week at awaiting carrier assignment then I caught up with the rest of my fellow week 19ers. Keep hope alive!!

I may have been lucky, but I was only at the port for 8 days before the vehicle was on a vessel en route to Port Hueneme.
