I just did my install. Super easy. Car sounds nice and rowdy with Active Catted Downpipes, and Active single midpipe. I do need some help though. The remote works brilliantly, but I am not getting the response from my home link pairing. I confirmed the pairing with the green light on the mirror, but nothing changes to it’s the button press. I would appreciate any help from anyone that got it to work.

Thanks to mike@x-ph.com as always for quick shipping and awesome support. Installed the controller last week. Easiest mod I’ve done to date. Highly recommend popping out the grommet in the trunk to route the wires for a clean mounting location for the box. Makes wire management easier too. Re-seal the grommet with some waterproof tape. Even some electrical tape is fine. Programming the remote was cake too. Big difference in exhaust tone when set to always open, especially on cold starts. Not a huge increase in volume, but definitely some. Looking forward to getting my Active Autowerke EL midpipe installed and really taking advantage of the controller! 😈

Is there any way to program the controller to work like stock, but instead of having the "variable" valves in sport mode, have them wide open or fully shut?

Haven't gotten my car yet and think about exhaust sound mods. Need the car to be wife / commute friendly but don't want to be reaching for a remote every time I want the valves open. Or do you just program that button on your home link?

Program it to homelink. One button for open, one button for back to car control.

Pics attached. If I'm overthinking this LMK but it doesn't seem as straight forward as on the G80 or 82. Plug and play compatibility-wise, yeah there's no issues, but maneuvering around in there seems challenging.
Just installed mine, is that exposed wiring ok? Where you can see the coloured wires, red etc

I used some electrical tape to try water proof it a bit better but didn’t expect to see the wires exposed like that, although some of the BMW ones look the same so probably not a biggie

Mentally scarred after the VVS2 got fried

just installed mine. Better to stick the box to the side of battery foam. That gives a better signal strength.

Great product!

Installed. Very easy even for a noob like me.

A few notes:
- pull the grommet from the trunk and slide the wires through there. You don’t have to remove anything underneath
- make a cut into the grommet and cut a small hole in the middle, wires fit through there perfectly
- you can complete this without lifting the car

I have one of the first G82…I don’t have a hole to wire the SST cable through from the trunk. The one everyone else used appears to be welded shut for me??? Anyone have suggestions, other than drilling through the welded spot? I don’t know why I have this fixed circle looking thing but don’t think it comes out?

Help? :-(

You sure you're looking at the correct side? The grommet is on the left side of the car, but your under-car picture looks to be on the right side? Unless it's just confusing perspective.

Photo is of the drivers side. There is identical setup on passenger side though.

I see it now, you sure you're looking at the correct side of the bucket? If you look at your picture of the grommet, to the *right* of it, looks like there's a circle punched that kind of matches that welded area you're looking. Perhaps the grommet is on the other side of those two bolts there?

PS: if you do find it please post very detailed pictures :P
