BMW's are easy if you just transfer leases and know the right entry points. Almost all of my BMW's I just transferred 12 to 18 months into the lease. It also helps that in California sales tax is paid only on the monthly lease payment.

Here's a question for those with a base G8x. How noticeable are the pops and bangs in sport+ with the flaps open?

They're childish as hell but I still enjoy them.

I'm not really hearing many at all, but I'm right at the "take it in for break-in service" point so haven't spent any time above 5500 rpm.

No bangs. I would classify it more as polite burbles, unless you're keeping the revs very high

Kind of a bummer as that is one of the things I love about my X3 M40i. Lots of burbles, bangs, pops, etc., especially in Sport and Sport Plus modes. That's alright though, I'll live. Perhaps it will give me a reason to switch to an Akrapovic or Eisenmann exhaust at some point.

I've read that it works with the hud but I haven't had it confirmed that it works with the cluster.

waze and google map prompts show up fine for me in android auto.. imagien same for carplay?

so you get arrows and street names but no actual map display like with built in GPS

Google Maps directions don’t propagate to the HUD and Live Cockpit in my experience. I never use Apple Maps.

The BMW navigation is actually pretty decent now, and is relatively hands-free when paired with the Voice Assistant. “Hey BMW, navigate me to the nearest Shell” and similar works well, and the HUD/Live Cockpit directions are well worth it.

Correct, it only works with Apple Maps. Other apps only display on the main screen.

Nothing childish about it...I'll be 40 in March and plan on doing the ridiculous quad MPE with some downpipes lol.

You're going to do the MPE??

I just can't get over the way they designed it…would have been nice if it was the traditional looking quad pipes and didn't require a whole new diffuser to also be fitted for it.
