72 was an option when I bought my E46 in 2000, and I think 84 might have been (don’t remember for sure). I went with 60 because I was 21 and I couldn’t afford the car.

Here’s an article from 1986 talking about how 84 month loans were starting to become a thing: https://www.washingtonpost.com/archi...-4f2246a5bc3d/

And one noting that in 2017 42% of all loans were 72 months or longer, and the average length was 69: https://www.washingtonpost.com/archi...-4f2246a5bc3d/

Guys, if you can get the diamond coating from your dealer; I think it’s worth it. You get 7 year warranty on exterior and interior and if anything happens to your paint, windows, or interior, they will replace it, no deductible. It also comes with a nice kit to clean your car.

Only if you count them twice. Even if you counted the $2,500 rebate as coming out of his pocket, which it obviously didn't, the total cost after all finance charges are paid is $125k.

$122.5k is his full cost including trade and down payment, if he carries the loan to term.

roughly 60k for the privilege of driving this car for 3 years. not sure if this is the market or not, but I have to think ownership might be cheaper. 72 mos at 6.99 no money down, before sales tax is 1620 per month.

If you didn't would it change anything? I've never understood these kind of posts, before purchase of course, post nope. Either you're crowing or looking for ok's from strangers that you did ok.

Personally, you got screwed, you got P-Zero's.

Same here. I feel that's the way to do it.

If you plan on buying out at the end, it could be a good long hold if it is the last ICE manual M3. Also, totally agree with the annoyances with ID8. Climate adjustments are a pain.
I went far more ham on a base... M performance parts

Mine should arrive sometime in december and I'm juggling between leasing or pure purchase

Maybe you will get lucky with some year end lease specials. If not, purchase may be the way to go.

He would have to stay in the lease for 3 years and buy out the car. At worst he's on the hook for ~$55k.
