M4 Comp weight reduction
I'm getting my new ride in less than two weeks. In Canada, the comp is only available with xDrive, so it's a bit of a glutton.
What aftermarket parts should I look out for to lighten this big boy? The ultimate goal in a few years time, after the factory warranty runs out, is to turn it into a road legal track vehicle. Does anyone make Titanium exhaust or CF drive shafts for the G80 yet? |

i guess you could buy some csl parts. hood, trunk, do a rear seat delete. lighter wheels. does your car already have the cf roof, buckets, and ceramic brakes ?
akrapovic and fi make titanium exhausts. it will still be heavy though. just enjoy it for what it is. its a daily that can handle the occasional track day and hold its own. its not a full blown track car with license plates like a gt3rs.

Forged wheels are a good way to save weight.
The CCBs aren’t that much of a savings. More rotating mass savings. The larger calipers offset the rotor. I added it up not long ago and it was less than 3lb a wheel. Not a lot of savings for the cost. I was looking on a website last week that had a carbon hood and trunk. Carbon Works or something like that. The CSL trunk is like $20k. Not an option. Looking at the CSL weight savings the center consol was quite a bit of savings. Overall BMW wasn’t able to shave that much weight off the CSL. The price per pound is not going to be worth getting crazy. |

You have to factor that the MSRP was 169 900 + luxury tax + taxes and add a full PPF and cost is around 220k. Ask me how I know 🤣

buckets (22lbs), ccb (42lbs), HRE r101s(30lbs), akra exhaust w/ long link pipes (36.8lbs) are the heavy hitters...
stuff like no exec package, no radar cruise probably save you 15-30lbs also? |
