For me it’s purely aesthetics. They work great but this is the best headlight design from BMW. And if the M5 lci is anything to go off I am very happy with my choice. Out of all the options I have on my car if the lasers did not come on it I would not have done the deal.

Thanks might throw it on the order now…contemplating putting the m drive professional on my order that’s awd also. But I think I’m gonna prioritize the laser lights.

Definitely carbon buckets (and the manual). There's only a few manual four door sports cars left, and the buckets look fantastic.

I think this partially comes down to your intended usage.

Weekend weapon - Forego most of the tech (i.e., exec package) and just enjoy the driving experience.

Daily Driver - Get the executive package. Otherwise, what is the point of buying a flagship model then knowing your average M340 is spec'd with more tech?

Must have is going to be subjective with everyone.

I didn't spec mine with a ton of options and I was fine without the carbon buckets and the carbon exterior pack. I do however LOVE the full leather interior. It makes a difference in look and feel and every time I step in the cabin, I appreciate it more.

Full leather, without a doubt. It's one of the cheaper options and truly brings the interior up a big notch.

Of course you could just opt for every option, but I bring up full leather cause I see a lot car that have every option except this. Don't pass it up.

I've had a car with HUD and I never could get used to looking at it/using it. The other features of exec pack don't have anything else that would make me choose it. I am hoping when I get my allocation, the factory gets my order and sees my options and is like "we can get this one built pretty quickly" and then I get it in a couple months (this is my imagination speaking lmao)

I'm stepping up from an Audi S3 which essentially had nothing aside from adaptive suspension. No nav, back up cam, or Apple CarPlay
So for me, the standard features are already way more than i'm used to. I bought the care purely for the engine/performance and thus could go without any of the optional extras. I spec'd mine in TR with FR interior and aluminum fabric trim; exactly how I wanted it. I still have some time to make adjustments to my order if I want but at this point im happy and feel no need to add anything.

Since here in the UK lasers only come with a pricey tech package, I couldn't justify the added cost. I don't do a massive amount of nighttime driving on poorly lit rural lanes, which is where the lasers obviously come into their own. BM's standard front beam is so good, in my day-to-day experience, I couldn't warrant the additional outlay for something that will primarily look impressive to other drivers in the dark! Though of course I get how aesthetically attractive they are by themselves, like a lot of these seductive add-ons which lure you toward the tick box at the point of order...

The package has the cameras... Maybe extra delivery delay, maybe not, but your statement makes it sound like the package doesn't include the cameras for the "all-around" view when it certainly still does.

You very well could be held up due to RAM or anything else though. Deleting options thinking you'll take delivery sooner is more likely to just get you regret when you finally get the car rather than getting the car quicker.

The wireless charger in all cars, is junk. BMW is no exception. It gets the phone extremely hot and chargers like 5% an hour. I'm glad it was deleted for a short time when I ordered my car.

I probably could have done without the m driver package. It's really just $2,500 to raise the top speed from 155 to 180. You get a free track day, but I'll probably never find the time to use it.

Can you transfer (sell) your track day to someone who would use it?

Only must-have you're missing in my book, is a 6-speed.

x100 on the laser lights. I didn't think I would care...at all...so I skipped the $1,000 or whatever it costs. I wish I had spec'd them.

Also, make sure to pick whatever color you really want, even if it's Individual. I didn't want to risk the additional wait, so I went IOMG (which I'm very happy with). But if I could go back to when I ordered, I would have gone Individual paint.

All this talk of laser lights is making me reconsider ordering it, but in Canada it’s not a stand alone option as far as I can see. It’s only available as part of the premium package which is an additional $6500, and includes options im not all that keen on/need.

I'm not losing sleep over it. You shouldn't either. It's similar in my book to the carbon interior trim. For $950, it gives me big smiles when I look at the carbon on the steering wheel, console etc. It just looks awesome, and didn't break the bank. The regular LED headlights function very well - and I drive in very dark, very rural areas daily. Perfectly fine. The laser lights give the front end an even more badass look - and for the $1,000, in retrospect, I would have popped for them. But if it meant spending thousands like apparently it does in Canada from your post, then I wouldn't have optioned them anyway (that $6,500 Canadian can cover a LOT of better mods).
