I got a status update today that it was on the truck headed for the dealership. It's only an hour away from the port, but I don't know if they have other stops or anything.

So very close.... crossing fingers.

Need more pictures of the wing. From a ton of angles! I'm considering it for my incoming XDrive but I'm not sure yet…

The steering is very sharp!

Torque band is a little more linear even in Sport Plus, which is what I was looking for in the G82.

Obviously grip seems to be more coming out of corners under power and the car feels very balanced! My previous AWD car was a B7 S4 and this feels much more nimble and RWD biased.

I cannot feel the additional weight yet, that will have to wait until my first track day to really see how far I can push it.

The ZF8 is smooth but surprisingly quick! The DCT is still sharper, more engaging, and. a tad quicker, but I actually appreciate the ZF8's smooth shifts. Even on the track, I was in shift mode 2 for the DCT to ease some of the harsh shifts that upset the car in certain situations. It will be interesting to see how they compare in extreme conditions not possible on the street.

I have not really opened up the car yet given the 1200 mile break in. But I am looking forward to playing at the limits when the time comes. The F80 was a handful when going sideways, which is both fun, but slightly terrifying when you pass that point of no return!

Yes its much what i think when comparing the G8X to F8X. Over all the auto is better for real world driving even if it's slightly less exciting imo. S58 feels much stronger up top.

Did you ever run sport cup 2's on your CS? What is the cost of the port installed wing? I never see the M performance parts listed on the configuration module.

Having said that, I had the chance to test drive a Comp with bucket seats and the first time I took a turn aggressively, I can tell how far they've come since the F80. Between the crazy grip, turn in and bucket seats, I was very impressed.

Did you consider the G80 since it seems like you always had sedans before?
That's what I've said since I first seen the G80 in the flesh. It just doesn't photograph that well UNTIL you've seen it in person. Then my wife decided she wanted the new G42. She loved it, and I just wasn't sold on the looks. Many also hate the update to it as well. But in person it looks very good minus a few really odd design choices. But still doesn't photograph well 😂

Some angles are "better" than others!

More from my first photoshoot. Yes, the car was actually pretty dirty, but the AW hides it pretty well.

Thanks!!

I'm planning some light modding for track use. So far, thanks to EAS, I've ordered:

PSI Midpipe
Millway Camber Plates
KW HAS
EBC Bluestuff Race Pads

PSI Midpipe installed! Sounds so much better now. Not quite as loud as the F80 with an MPE, but just as burbly for better or worse.

Obligatory track photos:
