dealer, frustrated waiting for answers from BMW germany, took apart the passenger side door (that door is working fine). turns out the wiring diagram in the computer does not match the passenger side. they re-pinned the driver's side to match the passenger side and now everything works!

should have my car back to me today

There were probably teams in Germany pointing fingers at each other wondering what actually got built. Good on the dealer for getting it sorted.

Bizarre set of circumstances there, they must of built your car on a Friday, as the saying goes.. 😁

But I'm glad it finally worked out and thanks for sharing your grievances.. I'm sure if this similar built issue repeats itself, this story will sure help someone down the line..

yea, i will say, BMW NA once i got someone on the phone was helpful, i was compensated for not having the car for 3+ weeks, and my dealer/service was also fairly nice and certainly went the extra mile for me, so all's good. happy to have the car back without any major work needed.

Well I’m glad this worked out. Seems like this was isolated to your vehicle? Nobody else has mentioned having this issue. Thumbs up to your dealer for going the extra mile to get you going.

I wonder how many other vehicles are out there with the same issue. Glad to hear they had some competent techs at that dealership & decided to take heed to the situation rather than wait for BMW Germany to respond.
