G80 vs M2 CS and M5 CS Compared
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Recently had the chance to spend some time with an M2 CS, and compared it to my G80, and an M5 CS. Lots of fun that day. https://machineswithsouls.com/2021/1...0-m3-vs-m5-cs/

The F87 M2 CS and F90 M5 CS are both such beautiful looking cars.
I think the G8X M3 is a tier below them both in exterior design

Nice review. My only issue is that the M2 CS is not $30K more than an equally spec'd M2C. I got mine for $85K, only option I paid for was the Misano Blue paint. Highly optioned M2Cs push almost $70K.
It might be really tough to find an F87 CS for $85K today, but it was possible when they were available. There is no loser in that comparison. |

The M5 cs makes me excited for the m4cs(l)
According to reviews, the M5cs is the best BMW currently produced. It can embarrass almost anything. Just watch car throttle absolutely destroying a hellcat with it. They said it handles almost like an M2. That is the greatest compliment a BMW can get IMO. If BMW can get a 4 door family mid-size saloon to handle like that, imagine the M4csl!!! If BMW can give it a similar treatment, then it will be insane. A car that truly deserves the CSL badge. The E46 CSL is regarded by many people as the best M3 and possibly greatest BMW of all time (except that dame SMG). BMW has to do well with the G82 M4 CSL, and it looks they will. It's an exciting time to be a BMW fan.

I had a F82 and thought the drivetrain was outstanding, but really struggled getting the power to the ground; I live in rural England, so lots of bends etc.
Bought an Exige 410 and fell in love with handling again and bought an f90 for the motorway/highway. The AWD M5 is so capable, it makes you forget the weight and forget the F82, I can only imagine the CS on the road. Having tracked the M5 and the Lotus, they get within 3s on the same track (cup on Lotus, MPS on M5) for the first 2 laps, then its over - I'm on steels, but they are cooked, that's the only downside. But taking it to the south of France, can think of nothing better - 2 sets of clubs, bags and 400 miles between tanks We are lucky to even have these conversations |
