Front Design Update: FEEDBACK WANTED

Dear group,

I would like to showcase my project with you, the M3/ M4 owners.
I had it in mind for a long time and finally took action, I started to design and quick 3D modeled.

I have tried to keep the large kidney grilles but executed them differently. It is a challenging task considering there are the bonnet lines, headlight shapes, sensors, grilles, etc that we need to follow.

Please keep in mind that it is an early stage and I am posting here as I am keen to have your feedback on it.

Production will start in early April, manufactured in carbon or abs.

If any of you wants to share his M4 for 3d scanning, I will be happy to ship an amazing bumper for free once it is finished.

I'm guessing this is going to go over as well as telling your wife she should get a nose job the day after you marry her.

Gfit I see your point and I do agree it is a risky "mission". I am a car designer, I prefer to keep things pure, but I feel this specific model has some potential in becoming more aggressive and better balanced. My target is to maintain the BMW Design DNA and generate a more cohesive alternative for those willing to buy this type of product. I am sure it is not for everyone

I don't hate it!

It could be very good potentially

I'm glad you embraced the big grill and didn't try and stick an F80 grill on it

Where are you based? I'm in New York if you are near by you could scan my car

ok sounds good man ! by small grills i dont mean old bmw grills its great that you did the big grills but they extend too low on the bumper imo.maybe just a tad smaller it will keep the g80 essence without being too much . keep up the good work the rest is 10/10

This looks pretty cool actually. Couple of thoughts...
- Make them slightly narrower but maintain the same shape.
- Have the vertical center extend down versus stopping just above the horizontal brace. (hope that makes sense)

I'm not currently the market but it's great to see different options out there.

I like it! I get a bit of a GT500 vibe from the overall shape. I think this executes the large grill concept a lot better than OEM.

Hope the next update will change your mind! kindly appreciate your time to leave an honest review! That's why I have decided to share the progress, rather than developing something that only myself would like.

I like it, it's the best aftermarket design I've seen so far. I would like the grills slightly narrower but that might not be feasible. Assuming your design will incorporate factory sensor location points?

On this design with the wide center try removing the center bar in the lower grill, body color the middle bar with a matte black trim on the bottom edge along the lower grill opening, extending about halfway between the lower opening and the upper. On a 3d design ramp that up to the outer edge from the opening. I think all the issues especially with the evolve front kit is that the bumper tries to keep the design characteristics of the stock bumper. Deep inset grills with very stark limes on the transition.

At least my thoughts are that that center transition between lower and upper grill needs some real definition. Evolve keeps it flat and the design suffers for it.

Still catching a Predator vibe going on with it but it does look better than the previous renders. Definitely would need to see it on an actual car and in many different angles.

On a side note, I have zero issues with the ORM grilles and bumpers and likely never would get something like this regardless of how much I liked the new design.

Design constraints

Once we get the 3D Scan, we will have an accurate view of how much freedom we have to move things around and will try to get the best solution possible.

There are several factors which are constraining the design freedom, including sensors, lidar, headlight beams, cooling and the rest of the car lines and surfaces.

In the end it will be a homogenous piece to integrate perfectly with the rest of the car, can't wait to share the progress with you, guys.
