No easy way unfortunately. BMW has been pretty tight lipped. Contact your dealer.

I'm guessing that the best you could do would be to contact your SA or call the Genius line.

If you truly want to know use the Alex Bond tool it is the most updated. My car has had this open recall for almost two months. BMWs USA/UK site still shows i have 0 open recalls. My car goes in on the 31st for this.

Anyone know what these mean? No description on the first defect, even though it is listed as closed.

Thanks

The second one related to the battery, is just as the description reads. There was a "recall" for them to make sure the battery was inserted right. I just got it checked when I did my break in service.

Yeah, it is for the padding underneath the battery or something. I am more curious about the first one

I’ve been quiet for a few days as there’s hasn’t been much to add but today’s update is big:

Car is finished, road tested, and ready for pick up! Getting it in the am! Obviously going to go over it with a magnifying glass but super excited. I feel like it’s the night before delivery day all over again!

I’ll update once I have it back and all is good. I’ll also update once I have my case closed out with BMWNA.

Congratulations. Glad you're getting it back and get to enjoy it again.

Got my car back!! All seems to be good and looks exactly the way I left her (I think). There doesn't appear to be any noticeable blemishes and it drives well (in the limited time I had since picking it up).

Now comes my discussion with BMWNA Corporate about what concessions I'll be provided with.

As an aside, my SA let me know that he has been reading this thread and keeping tabs on what's going on here. If that's the case, you can be sure BMWNA has been reading as well.

I asked again when I was there how many cars this impacts. My SA didn't give me a number, but said its hundreds in the NA market. Those of you who may be impacted should be proactive IMO. Contact your dealer and SA. Schedule an appointment and get out in front of it, even with it being painful.

As for my SA (who I know will read this), thanks again for putting up with me and if I get a survey, you'll get all 10s. ;-)

What concessions would you expect?
Coming from the world of mclaren(which i love the car but can be precarious when it comes to support) i would happy to get all the work done and timely but thats it

I’m happy the work was done and my car is back. I am not happy I paid a hefty payment for a car while it was not drivable due to a BMW issue.

Concessions = TBD.

First off, glad to hear you got your car back and that you're happy so far with the results.

Now, with your recommendation of being proactive, would you say or think that if someone's S58 does not come up as being affected in all the "Check Recall by Vin#" websites out there, and after actually checking with the dealer, are they on the clear?

I mean, there’s only so much you can do right? If none of the recall tools show anything and your SA doesn’t see your car being impacted, then I’d move on. What else can you ask for?
