What I don't get is the Camaro has been the same since the first transformers movie! Why does bmw want to axe this body style within 5 years. All that work for what? 50k cars per body style?
How do you know it's selling like hotcakes.

People on this forum are bashing their heads trying to get an allocation. They are extremely popular cars, and I think BMW is artificially limiting supply as well.

It's already been linked to earlier in this thread but I highly suggest everyone subscribe to the future model information thread here in Bimmerpost. Has all you need to know about when models will start/stop production and when the LCI will occur.

Ohhh. That makes sense. Thought you had an allocation since you said you ordered in Dec.

That's not how any of this works.

The LCI for the M3 is coming this July. This is well documented!

Im buying mine now. I have waited long enough. its not getting any better with COVID.. I could care less i7 vs i8 they both beautiful and functional. I will enjoy mine and sell for a 2025 version later. 2023 means 2-3k msrp increase, more delays, and all speculations. I think 2025 is the end of G80 and they will make CS variant only until 2026 2027 probably.. or some hybrid m3

Most manufacturers follow a typical 6 year lifecycle for a regular model and there are few exceptions like Durango, 4runner. For any performance vehicle based out of a regular platform, the lifecycle would be much shorter. Manufacturers would not stick on to their products for ever just because they are selling like hot cakes and in the current market, even a Camry is selling over sticker.

Most mainstream OEMs are transitioning from ICEs to hybrids / EVs to gain market share and would not stick on to their current models more than the typical timeframe as they want to show their capabilities to the consumer. I work for an OEM and my current project is an EV which will be launched in 2026.

Consumers have the mentality of having the latest product even though what they currently own might be more than enough to meet their needs. Manufactures want to milk that mindset and this is the same reason why Apple launches a new iPhone every year.

Current gen Camaro follows a typical lifecycle and GM is not having the same platform since Transformers days. It began production by 2016 and will be phased out by 2023. BMW would not limit a regular M3 production like a Ferrari and would like to make vehicles as much as they can. But current production is limited due to supply chain issues and semi conductor shortage which is beyond their control.

BMW is a mainstream manufacturer and would have zero interest in doing that. Things limiting current production are beyond their control and every other manufacturer is facing the same issue. I know people who had to wait 4 weeks for a mainstream Honda vehicle which is manufactured in the US and hardly have any shipping delays.

Going down the rabbit hole when you start thinking you should wait to see what is new for next year. Next year never comes…think about it.

100% this

Everyone is always worried about what's tomorrow ( next) and not what's today.

And next thing you know, one day , tomorrow never comes.

If you want a M3 i would just buy one. Now. If you keep waiting now for the LCI you don't have a M3. And what will you do after summer when the M3 comes as the LCI with as only change the i-Drive 8 interior ? Because it is likely that the next year they will update the head-lights when the 4 series LCI is due ? Will you wait for that again ? And if you have waited for that why not wait for the new M3 that will come after it ? So don't think too much but just buy the thing if you want one. You will not regret it !!

Personally, I prefer the pre-LCI interior. I really want the additional buttons in the cabin to interface with, without looking down from the road.

OP: Look at some of the spy shots of the interior and weigh the overall pros/cons. I think this is a question only you know the answer to.

But you don't know what the LCI interior will look like. Unless you work at BMW in which case - spill the beans!

I'm only going off what has been posted on this forum and other spy shots. Nothing official.

My comments of pre/post LCI were based on this series of images posted: https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...2&postcount=96

You do know that this thread was made in Jan 2022 right? The MY 2023 are already in production since July 2022. If you meant MY 2024, then they start July 2023 but also will come with more price increase.
