The problem is, BMW already has a 2 series Gran Coupe that’s FWD. so if they made a M2 Gran Coupe, it would be a AWD but based on the same platform.
That’s the problem with BMW splitting the sedan and coupe with the same name into two different platforms, one being FWD based UKL2 chassis and the other being the CLAR RWD/AWD platform. So an M2 Gran Coupe (sedan) would be effectively different than an M2 Coupe

We owned an RS3 for 4-years. While the inline-5 is a sweetheart of an engine and sounds awesome, it is still a fair bit laggy even in Dynamic mode. A big single turbo will do that to you .

Here in Canada, they are worlds apart in terms of pricing. The RS3 sells for about 60% of what the M3 sells for .

Honestly, that's what it should be, however "down" here, there's roughly a 15% difference in price from base to base. That's technically an estimation since pricing officially isn't out yet. With a few options, the two cars won't be that far apart. Which, of course, is insane.

If I have to explain this to you, you're clearly not an actual car enthusiast.

Might as well compare the M135i vs RS3 Sportback as the price difference is LESS in that matchup.

Yes of course an M3 is better than an RS3. I'm looking forward to the Q8 vs X1 'review next'. :

I notice no drag race which might have been incredibly close and almost worthwhile. However they seemed content with an interior quality 'feel' test on two cars £25k apart that are performance machines.
G80 is regularly smoking the RS5 in drag races including an ABT RS5-R let alone the RS3...I think they probably left it out because it would have made their whole video look even more pointless lol

Agreed! Everyone is complaining about the G8x grille, but that new Audi grille is horrible. Ill take the G8x grille all day and in-person, it looks pretty damn good.

that's a strange comparison IMO the RS3 is a much smaller car with a back seat that only fits midgets. again who cross shops these two cars? RS3 is a pointless car IMO, if you like the 5Cyl engine (now that is unique) you might as well get it in a much more unique and better looking car the is the TT RS, equally impractical way cooler and much more special. and it competes with the M2.

the M3 vs. RS4/RS5 sport back would be a valid comparison.

It looks like it was designed during COVID. If you really look at it it's like the front end is wearing a black mask. Reminds me of the days where people used to put car bras on their cars.

I wouldn't say they are boring. As a daily driver they are pretty fun. VAG just can't shake that soulless, clinical feel in all their vehicles. The harder you push them the less fun they are. It's always been that way.

Maybe im biased because i ordered one idk...but i just dont understand the grille hate at all. i walk buy a few giulias every day and the bmw looks better than that in my opinion. I dont like the lexus grille or the audi grille either and im sure the CT5V-blackwing is a great car but strictly grille wise the front end of that thing just does nothing for me. Model 3 performance has that weird like dent where a grille would be as well. What the heck is left after eliminating all of those if you dont like the G8X lol Im not a big fan of the M340I grille either that jumps up onto the hood to eliminate the trunk line so i guess i lucked out liking the G8X

It's like the complete opposite for the M3/4. You just want to light the tires on fire at every chance to feel like the car is doing what it was designed to do. The harder you push, the more fun they are.

Coming from an Audi S3, I completely agree. The stereotype that Audi's are soulless vehicles is completely wrong, but they certain don't have the "joi de vivre" that a BMW has with spirited driving. My S3 is tuned, and is an absolute rocket of a car to drive given its weight, but the M240i is on another planet when it comes to driving dynamics.

That certainly would make the RS3 more compelling

That's cute, BMW guys talking shit on another brand's grille design.
Kinda like people from Arkansas saying "Thank God for Mississippi" …

So, for me I currently have the 8V RS3 and I am debating ordering the M3 Xdrive. So my estimation based on my old RS3 price of $64k plus carbon ceramics and unique paint I am at $75k. The m3 I want configured is $88k. So these two are around 10k apart as The trade in drops the M3 price anyway. Comparativley my RS3 with basic stuff Runs like 11.2 with all seasons so about as fast as a stock xdrive m3.
