Thats the key right there, adding that will increase the market reception from enthusiasts by a decent margin. I really wish hyundai would do some trick awd system too for their N lines (if they had awd in their N lines to begin with).

I think they will, Biermann has a bit of experience with things that aren't fwd.

ST205/ST185 Celica GT4 would disagree with you, equivalent ITR today is easily twice the money of the faster, much rarer, AWD, homologation GT4s

Today's market is obviously gone insane so who knows at this point, but my point on classic sporty Hondas fetch higher price than classic sporty Toyotas are not without merit, only exception to the rule seems to be the Mk4 Supra and the original 86, former is made famous by an American movie, the latter made famous globally by a Japanese manga

I was never comparing the original ITR (not surprised that it is double the price of the GT4 in today's collector market). I just don't think think the new Civic Type R (much higher production numbers than the original ITR I believe) will fetch the kind of scratch that the GR Yaris will. Could be wrong but only time will tell. Personally, if I was picking one over the other to keep in a time capsule to sell in 25 year, it would be the GR Yaris.

I would dig an aggressive looking, useful hatch, with turbo power and AWD....sprinkle in Toyota reliability and I'd be interested.

AWD is nice. We'll see what the HP is & how they price it. That will determine if it's a winner

Current rumor is that it will just get the same 268hp of the Yaris. Of course there's a tuned one with 475hp already.

Not enough hp IMO. With that weak hp, better be sub 30k. I'll take another Mazdaspeed6 otherwise

To be fair, the Yaris is 700 pounds lighter than an MS6 and 400 pounds lighter than an MS3. The Corolla will add some weight, but not that much.

Are you forgetting its a corolla?

270hp is plenty, specially considering the weight of the car.

My only concern is that it will be overpriced.

Placing my bets on Golf being more composed handling with the Corolla having more character. Sadly the Golf's excellent ergonomics have been thrown in the trash with the new infotainment system so Toyota gets another point there, that and reliability of course.

I'm going to hold my breath until they officially unveil the car as I haven't seen irrefutable evidence that it's going to be AWD. It's a very speculative car at this point with virtually no official information of its existence outside of small easter eggs in a photograph.

I hear ya, but Toyota did a similar slow reveal with the new Tundra. It's coming.

Obviously nothing official yet, but I will be floored if it is not offered with 6MT, AWD and at least as much HP as the GRY. From the Toyota website:

What would be the point of all the Easter eggs? I think it will have everything they've eluded to.

I'm not comparing weights and I wasn't talking about the yaris. Just my personal preference on the Corolla. I would at least want if it's cheap as a daily driver. But if it's going to be nonsense pricing because of this insane market then there are much better options out there

It's 2021. If you're bringing out a performance car 270 is nothing
