Any updated info on the weight difference (if any) between the 825M vs 826M?

Had the 826m black. I am thinking of grey now because they pop better than black

I think they all look good.

My preference would be the Orbit Grey 825M - I don't see too many of those ordered. Matte surfaces don't show scratches like the jet black ones do.

I had the Jet Black 437m on my first F80 and hated them for that reason.

I'm thinking I'll be ordering those with the car and then getting a set of the 963m. Unless they add 963m to the VIA order list.

The strange thing about the Orbit Gray 825M wheels is that, they usually look like darker wheels, but they have that bright, lighter colored ring around the outside of the rim. I don't see that silver "ring" around the edge of the rim in this pic though. Am I thinking of a different wheel that has that lighter colored ring?

If you’re talking about the pic I posted…those wheels have been painted bronze. That’s what I’m thinking of doing to the wife’s M4

I did a whole thread, asking people if it was just me, or do the 825 wheels just look like they belong on a base model? Where the 826M wheels just looks premium. I went for 826M Bicolor. You cant go wrong.

the way everyone seems to have spec'd the 826's makes it seem like THOSE are the base model wheels. hahahaha

Exactly my experience. At the times I went cruising around dealerships for G80/82s there was no single one in the US w/o the black 826’s. I went with the 825’s in same combo as below even they cost a premium compared to the 826 in Germany. I believe I am still happy with this choice.

Some of them look good. But I think the bicolor 825s are the ones I'm thinking look base model.

This looks good, like this. You're right about the 826s being on every car. They definitely are. The way you specd the Brooklyn Gray, definitely makes a difference. The wheel color fits well. I originally had specd Brooklyn, but the day after I ordered, I changed it to Dravit, because I'd already owned 3 cars in this battleship gray looking color, and at the time, still had 2, now j still have one of them.

great choice. ordered the same style/color for my wife's BSM G82. seeing so many folks with the black 826's...especially on the BSM cars...just shows a lack of imagination. i get that mesh-style wheels are a staple of BMW, tho.

Apparently BMW put the sample cars out originally in different parts of the world with different wheels. Something like US models all had the 826's, but maybe Asian models all had 825s. Something like that, but it was interestingly regional.

I was all set on 825 but changed the order right before the cutoff to 826Bi.
The more I looked at 825 up close the more I started disliking the sharp angle turn spokes took towards the Center cap. 826 are flowing fluid concave to the center. That’s what I liked and switched

I like that BMW offers different strokes for different folks, when it comes to optioning our rims, trims, seats, etc. You do you; I do me. We're all one happy family.

I may be showing my age (if so, so be it), but I have yet to 'get' the appeal of black wheels, regardless of paint color but especially dark colors. The rims are the jeweled highlights of the vehicle. So you can guess my choice ..

Exquisite. Thanks for posting this comparison. Those 826s do look beautiful with the Tanzanite: I know (from my 40i) that this colour needs some kind of silver glint to lift it, and the bi-colour 26s do just that without blinding you with chrome (drawn though I still am to the brightness of the 825s).

The 826M bi-color wheels are still too dark for me. It happened several times here on Bimmerpost that pictures with the 826M bi-color wheels were shown and then various members asked if that's the black or the bi-color version. The difference is just too small if you don't like dark wheels. But definitely still better than the black ones.

I've just ordered the G82 in Tanzanite Blue with Orbit Grey 825 M wheels - arrives in Feb 22 so hopefully made the right choice!

...and if not, I might get the 21/20" Gold Bronze Matt 1000 M wheels fitted!

It take your point. The shine on the bi-colour 26s is indeed subtle, and I wonder how they'd look after a week of brake dust or wet weather! I definitely can't get on with black rims on Tanzanite (the wheels just get lost in the arches), so I think I'm going to have to try and see the 26s in person on an overcast day before making a final judgement on how well they'd perform in day-to-day life.

This is definitely a good idea. With this generation, you have more choices than ever for the wheels, but the frustrating thing is that they are all dark (either black, dark gray, or black with lighter accents). I understand it's a trend, but not everyone likes it.

You're right: the hues on offer are entirely biased toward the darker shades, which gives us a pretty narrow choice (paradoxically) in comparison to generous range of spoke designs. As much as I like the central pattern of the 26s, I'll need to tread carefully here, as I've gotten really used to light-complexion rims sitting under Tanzanite arches: my 40i's cerium alloys bear up really well under the grime and dust of winter and/or motorway use.
