The ER crossover pipe has a better design than stock, with a smoother transition. It also weighs less.

I don't know if that would translate to noticeable gains on the dyno, but either way, I would not expect anything drastic.

It's a subtle improvement in performance and sound

Not yet as our shop car already had the exhaust.

It's a popular product, im sure one of our customers with the stock exhaust will provide a sound clip soon. I'll post it as soon as it's available

We use a 200 cell metallic core for our Sports Series High Flow Catted Downpipes. Having fewer cells per square inch makes these individual "cells" bigger, thus allowing exhaust gas to pass through it more easily. Thus, the lower the cell count, the higher the flow. Higher flow = more power, faster turbo spool up (less turbocharger lag), and better throttle response. Bottom line, faster. The benefits of a metallic catalytic converter vs. a ceramic-like factory are that it can take higher temperatures and is more durable (last longer). They are also lighter than their ceramic counterparts. Restrictions in the exhaust system rob horsepower and torque, especially on turbocharged cars. Thus, removing exhaust flow restrictions will significantly increase horsepower and torque. The factory catalytic converter found in the factory downpipe is a big culprit of this and is a significant exhaust flow restriction. The factory catalytic converter comprises catalyst material formed into "honeycomb" weaves. Exhaust gas must pass through these tiny "honeycomb" weaves on its way to the exhaust system, thus causing a significant exhaust flow restriction. It also causes turbulence after the catalytic converter, which causes the exhaust flow to slow down (which increases restriction). More power is unleashed by replacing the factory downpipe/catalytic converter with our Sports Series High Flow Metallic Catted Downpipe!

Our Sport Series High Flow Catted Downpipes is 100% 304-grade stainless steel and utilizes mandrel bent piping. Our in-house fabricators are 100% TIG welded and built in the USA. The factory turbocharger turbine housing utilizes a 3.5" V-Band flange which we have duplicated, and CNC machined cut out of billet 304 stainless steel. Stainless Steel CNC machined O2 sensor and laser cut brackets are TIG welded using stainless steel rods. The O2 sensor is positioned at the factory location. The factory donut flange design is retained. 100% bolt-on.

Our downpipes are designed to fit perfectly with either the factory exhaust system or your aftermarket exhaust system. There are no compatibility issues whatsoever. The downpipes will come by default with a brushed finish.

Ceramic Thermal Coating - The purpose of ceramic coating downpipes is to keep heat from the exhaust gases inside the downpipe from radiating out. This keeps underhood temperatures lower and absorbs less by nearby parts/surfaces. Another added benefit is that exhaust flow velocities stay up by keeping in heat (energy) in the exhaust gases inside the downpipe, resulting in lower backpressure. The ceramic coating also adds additional corrosion resistance. We utilize the best ceramic coating possible. Our thermal layer can resist up to 2000F of heat. Restrictions in the exhaust system rob horsepower and torque, especially on turbocharged cars. Thus, removing exhaust flow restrictions will significantly increase horsepower and torque. The G Chassis M3/M4 utilizes a Y-style mid-pipe. However, both downpipes are both on the right side of the engine. The left side downpipe connects to the "crossover" pipe as it crosses over to the left side underneath the transmission to connect to the midpipes. The right side downpipe connects directly to the mid-pipe. Since this crossover pipe goes under the transmission, BMW squished the round pipe into an oval to give clearance. However, going from a round tube to an oval causes turbulence inside the pipe, which causes a restriction. We found plenty of clearance to keep the tubing round, and thus we built our replacement Crossover Pipe without needing to squish the tubing. The factory crossover pipe utilizes cast components, so it is pretty heavy. Our replacement Crossover Pipe is lighter, and thus some weight savings can be had.

Our Competition Series Catless Downpipes is 100% 304-grade stainless steel and utilizes mandrel bent piping. Our in-house fabricators are 100% TIG welded and built in the USA. 100% bolt-on.

Our Crossover Pipe is designed to fit perfectly with either the factory or your aftermarket mid-pipes. There are no compatibility issues whatsoever. The Crossover Pipe will come by default with a brushed finish.
