I know our m4s aren’t in the same category of an RS7, but, if you had your choice, which would you choose?

First, I would go with the RS6 not RS7. I'm not sure, the RS6 is a beast but is also quite a bit more expensive but also holds its value very well. That alone would probably get me picking that over an M3/4. Strictly from a performance standpoint, I'd still go M3.

There's some extra carbon parts you can buy aftermarket like the corners and side skirts but those are much less of a pain/hassle to deal with installing and trying to get ones that fit and look right (I had trouble with third-party mirror caps and wind noise, for example)

Otherwise, congrats!
Ended up changing my build at the last second...and included the exterior carbon package! haha. It wasn't so much because I thought I needed it, but I decided to remove the advanced drivers assist package ($2k) so then adding in the carbon package was such a small amount to not do it now vs go aftermarket.

I've had the advanced drivers pack on my previous G20 M340i and similar thing on my RS5, and although it's very handy, I never used it. Plus I like the grill without the off-center radar box thing.

Thanks for the nudge

*monkey paw curls* lol. Damn I didn't think you'd want to remove it. At least for the adaptive cruise control I think the option is 100% worth it.

Honestly I was on the fence from the beginning with the ACC, again because I've had it on a G chassis car before. I don't drive in crazy traffic and don't use this car as my family road tripping vehicle (the Audi Q7 is reserved for those duties and it has adaptive cruise with stop and go). Weighed my options and the exterior carbon won lol.

It's a nice to have for me. Maybe I'd want it more if somehow they integrated the radar box better. I really don't like the look of it on the grille (and the grille was already something that previously held me back from the M3).

True. I hate that look as well. Mine has it and I like having the option but the front definitely takes a bit of a beating for it. I am getting a Vorsteiner grille with mesh inserts installed in coming days to hopefully lessen that effect. Haha.

I ended up changing my mind on the last day before the order was being locked for production and decided to go with the Advanced Driver's Assist package. It was like $1,800 and although I don't use the stop and go function (and I don't like the radar box in the grille), I can see that I'd probably get the money back or at the very least more interest once I go to sell this thing in however many years. I know some people will dismiss it right away without the radar cruise. So now the only option box I didn't tick is the CCB's, but the order is locked and almost in production so no turning back now.

I think you made the right call. $1800 now but in the long run having the option and not needing is still better than needing it and not having it, plus like you said it's always a plus for resale. We have an identical spec now as the only option missing in mine was the CCB as well (which I am glad). I haven't used mu radar cruise much at all so far and it's not my only vehicle so I don't particularly take it on highways but I rather have it and not use it then use it and not have it. Plus I got my Vorsteiner grille with mesh installed and while obviously it's not gone or anything, it does help with minimizing the 'soreness' of the looks of the front box.

Thanks! You need to...it's pretty awesome! Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to get the M HAS kit as it came a bit earlier than expected. To be honest, the rear is perfect for me already so I may just do the Eibach pro kit springs in the front. Or the KW HAS kit...haven't decided. It's funny, I measured the stock height from the ground to the front lip (at the corners and in the middle) and the M3 sits EXACTLY (to the mm) as the RS5. The biggest difference though is the RS5 at stock height has a "two finger" gap at the front wheel whereas the M3 is almost 4 fingers! It's like a 4x4. Lol

One very minor gripe after having a 2020 M340i...what the hell happened to the quality of the key fob?? Looks the same, but it's all plastic now! The metal portion used to be, well, metal. Even the plastic parts felt better quality. Shame BMW, shame! Lol

Hmmm wonder if that's new for the 2024s... my g80 key fob is identical to my previous g20s

I've been driving a 2022 M3 manual while waiting, and it has the same cheap feeling key. Maybe I'm forgetting what my 2020 M340i key was like, but I remember it being heavy and cold to the touch (the metal part). My Q7 key is probably twice the weight and feels solid. Very odd.

Just found this thread over on the G20 side. Looks like the LCI went to a plastic key.
