I also had the car wrapped in stages. I had the front end and all doors done first. In this photo below, all the doors were wrapped in ppf, but not rear quarter panel or trunk. I've asked many people if they could see a difference--none did. The panels where ppf was applied even felt exactly like bare frozen paint. |

The frozen finish keeps things alive. Just adds a special feel to an already special car. Frozen is unlike any wrap or matte PPF. It has a dramatic sheen that can only be experienced in person and certain lighting conditions.
About 2 years now with my frozen white G80. It gets used daily and just hit 17k miles. It sits outside and sees all types of weather. Couldn’t be further from a garage queen. No PPF anywhere either. Besides a few small rock chips on the front end, the paint still looks new. I installed the Dr Beasley’s ceramic pro kit within a week of buying the car. It’s an expensive ceramic and has one of the highest hardness ratings (10h), and it has most definitely helped against staining. I won’t go into my anti-PPF rant, but frozen is an extremely tough finish. Frozen white also does an incredible job hiding any blemishes. While matte specific soaps and detailers are important (Dr Beasley’s EVERYTHING), the most important piece to frozen ownership is the washing technique. Lots of foam and pre soaking, minimal touching, and minimal towel drying. I’ve seen too many frozen owners constantly quick detailing their cars, and that’s what could potentially add gloss, taking away from that gorgeous matte sheen. I have actually gone a month without washing, knowing it’s best to get everything clean in one swoop, rather than cleaning 1-2 times a week. |

It's probably my bad luck, but in the less than 2 months of ownership so far - with less than 1K miles and most driving just for pleasure, I got a scratch on the rear quarter (before PPF) This scratch, I think would have easily ben buffed out on a regular glossy finish, but on Frozen, I would have to look at it every day walking up to the car.
Also managed to hit a rock or something (never felt anything) and rip a hole on the front bumper. Luckily the front PPF on the bumper is somewhat modular, so the installer was able to take off, and put a new piece. I have not doubt that folks like FISH22 have had no issues with bare Frozen paint, but for me, I rather pay to have it protected. And as mentioned earlier, I would never pay for full PPF on a regular glossy car because I don't see the value in it. |

apart from that: no one, absolutely no one, knows the long time effect of ppf - paint must breath and I cannot imagine it is super "healthy" to cover it for such long time periods... be it as it be, everyone should do what he wants , me personally enjoying the CSL like it is meant to be enjoyed and not caring about any fu..ing stone chips or whatever, cheers guys |

I was considering getting a full PPF wrap, but I ultimately decided against it. I felt that I was attempting to deny inevitability. Eventually, you're going to get scrapes, dents, and imperfections on a car. It's my daily driver and I have accepted that my car does not belong in a museum. The scratches and scrapes on my car remind me of my own mortality. Nothing in this realm is forever. That said, I love my frozen portimao blue paint. I am approaching 4k miles and I think it's a uniquely beautiful paint color. It doesn't get as much attention is IOMG or yellow, but I feel that it fits my style the best. I don't need attention anyway.

To each their own. Canadian winters are an absolute warzone for cars. I couldn't imagine buying a 6 figure car and not putting PPF on at least the front, especially on a frozen car. Winter here without PPF is akin to letting a couple kids grab a few handfuls of pea gravel and hucking it at the front of your car as hard as they can once a day for 6 months.

That said, knowing how OCD I am/was - I would probably pass on Frozen myself in the future - just to save the heartache of scratches and damages. Funny thing is, the less I care about a car, the less damage is likely to occur. |

First matte color was grey on my GT3 which was wrapped. Changed to matte red/white once but now is back to original red.
Second matte colored car is 500e in grey which is painted. No wrap/ppf on that car. And now the CSL in FBG which is fully XPEL wrapped for protection reasons. I guess I will „need“ another frozen color except grey in the future. No regrets on either car/color. Never had any issues on maintaining the colors. |

Why not just get a stealth ppf/wrap? It looks very similar to me. If something goes wrong, just replace the ppf section, rather than deal with the paint. |

I think it depends on how long you want to keep your g80. I’m keeping mine for at least 10yr. I want it to shine forever like the day I bought it. Ppf/ceramic achieves that. Not saying I like the cost… but shit is expensive these days, a friggin sweater is $400. |

Bad quality paint
To be honest , keep away from it all times. The paint quality and strength is worth nothing. 5k extra on price , they should give you discount . Maintenance is ok, but scratches appears within a couple of thousands of miles. I have bought one , a frozen grey and if I would know on forehand … the only frozen I have bought , next time a glossy one again , much stronger surface.

Why not just get regular paint and put matte ppf on it then?
