It's almost $100k in five layers of taxes here (USD$70k-ish)

If the guy can afford a GT4RS, I don't think he's losing sleep over the loss he incurred from the sale of this CSL. I know I wouldn't. I'd be like "GTF outta here already!"

I can’t decide what’s more annoying:
1. The M4 CSL 2. Peeps who bring up the 911

Lol. Can’t he (or she) have both? I have a 911 and if I got another one I wouldn’t sell her for any amount offered. 997, c4 manual! They just aren’t building these cars close to what I love anymore. Full disclosure - I’m on a 911 “list” too. At MSRP the dealer writes you a check essentially on high end models.

My dad retired and bought his dream car upon retirement. 4 months later he had a paralyzing illness that rendered him unable to do walk. His car stayed with him for about 2 months and we decided to sell it. So I’ve lived through something on the surface looks like a quick flip on to the next. |

We have no idea so all reasonable possibilities are considered. I don't believe a savvy flipper would actually pay $10k for PPF before auctioning. Perhaps that was the "MSRP" deal from the original dealer. What do you believe happened here?

Some dealers sell at MSRP, some greedy dealers have Sales Managers or GMs buy all special editions for themselves to flip them for private (!!!) profit, some dealerships have market pricing, it is all over the place…and annoying. Autonation dealerships have ADM and jack up the finance rates, Paul Miller Porsche has lists that are of no consequence because they sell allocations to highest bidders, etc. regardless of holding a deposit for years (insert many other dealers here).
Buying a car has become such an annoyance when you are a true enthusiast. And while a long standing relationship can help you to sometimes score a cool car at MSRP even that has become harder. Add the ignorance of many sales advisors - with few exceptions who tend to be active on these boards for example - and the constant turnover in the industry, it will not get any better. Congratulations to the few that received their CSL with their preferred spec. I had my eyes set on a 4 door and still wish to secure a Signal Green CS with no ADM since my dealer has a couple of deposits ahead of me unfortunately - but has been transparent from the beginning. If it wont happen, so be it! Lastly, price aside, recent CSL and CS models are significantly different, but everyone needs to decide for themselves if it is worth the increased price of entry. Basically, I agree with everyone - time for flippers to pay the price of rapid depreciation. Patience and it will all work out one way or another. |

This is why the US didn't get the 3.0 CSL
