As far as bite, I did change my brake setting from sport to comfort as the feel is now much better in comfort. With stock, sport setting was my preference as there was a good amount of travel and kind of a “off/on” feeling to those stock pads. With these is2000, they just feel great and have a more gradual feeling of the harder you push the more they stop you. Because of this, I’d say they provide about 40% more stopping power before they lock up the wheels, meaning stock pads will force you to lock up the tires 40% sooner than the is2000s which is incredible….it’s incredible that the is2000 have such better feeling to them then stock and they also do not heat up the way stock pads do. When I would use the car daily, then put it away and use e-brake, the pads would clunk off when I use the car next as they were hot when I shut the car off. That does not happen at all anymore with the is2000s. Hope this all makes sense answers your question.

I have only 12,000 miles and my pads still look new so I’m not a good reference point to ask when you should replace them; I did it because of squealing and dust, not because they needed it.

Silly question - should the bedding-in process but done on freshly washed rotors with as much iron contaminant removed as possible (not changing rotors this time, just pads).

Finally had them installed. Tech was worried that may rattle since they're missing the "counterweights" or shims or whatever you call them that the OE pads have.
No far zero noise. I have the IS2000s and honestly, the bite feels pretty much like stock, maaaaybe a touch more?Definitely a very linear feel to the braking power, which I like. Did I mention, ZERO NOISE. the drive home almost brought a tear to my eye, not sounding like a freight train at every damn stop. Haven't bedded the brakes yet and not sure if I even need to? Will wash the car tomorrow and report back on dust in a week. 10/10 would highly recommend. |

Which ones are you looking at because sometimes the 2000s are in stock vs the 1500s or vice versa.

2,000 miles on IS2000 (front) and EBC Redstuff (rear). Zero noise, much less dust, and factory-like stopping experience in all conditions. 10/10 would recommend.

I can't comment enough on how much my enjoyment of the car has increased with quiet brakes. Seems like a silly thing but it really was bothering me.

I just bought mine a week or two ago and I'm just waiting for them to come in stock. Literally buying because I can't stand the squealing but also reduced break dust. Hopefully will have them in another week or two. |
