Hello guys,
Ive just got my m3 g80 2022 xdrive 3 days ago, now when i try to move the steering wheel when the car is moving slowly or fully stopped, i hear a weird ( not that loud) noise, you can hear the noise from the inside of the car but not outside, ive seen many posts about this topic, can someone tell me what to do?

That is the beauty of having warranty. Take it in and have a tech come out to inspect.

Tech will usually tell you that's normal.

Isn't there a steering rack recall for the new G87 M2?

Must share something with the G8x M3/M4.

Have something similar on my 2023 M4 G82 xDrive Comp.

Mine is currently doing the same thing. A weird internal squeal almost. Not glaringly loud, but you can definitely hear it at low speeds. Also, weirdly enough when the wheel is at 12 o’clock position, there appears to be some play in the wheel going left and right. Maybe an inch or so? But it almost feels like there’s 0 resistance for that first inch in either direction, then the power steering catches. I really don’t know how else to describe it. But it never used to do this and now recently it appears to be doing it more and more often. It also doesn’t happen 100% of the time which makes me wonder what’s going. Not trying to hijack your thread but have you noticed any of these other issues as well?

I dont have any noises but mine does feel like its tripping over the wheels when I back up and crank the wheel. Its hard to describe but its definitely weird.

Wasn’t there a SIB for tie rod ends or something recently? Don’t remember off the top of my head

On Cup2's if it's cold mine does this on my driveway. I always thought it was because these sportier compounds get super hard in the cold. The factory MPS4S has more material from the Cup2 than the off the shelf MPS4S, so that could be it.

SiB yes, recall no.

Mine is UK G82 xDrive, RHD MY23.

Not sure that issue applies to mine, it's more inside the car rather than outside. Like the steering column or wheel.

Almost sounds like an artificial or electric noise rather than mechanical.

I think mine is not necessarily electric, more like rubbing but a bit high pitched and only when turn the wheel swiftly. Have you been able to record the sound?
I actually tried it today, and it's not so audible when you are stationary and engine is on (so you can turn the wheel). It's a bit louder when you are parking, so when the car is slowly moving. Got to have someone else record while you are steering, I guess.

It started after 600miles for me, happens the same thing on my m3cx when it was sitting for couple hours and start driving with wheel turned to one or other side, you get some 2-4 knocks. Althought it didnt happen when I had alpine 5 winter tires.
