There was nothing disrespectful in my post. As I stated, it's just my opinion.

And just like people love it, others life to vent, which is also Ok in a forum!

Just because I have a different opinion than you, doesn't mean I have any problem with you.
tbh i wasn't pointing at you and your specific post, I didn't even read it until now.
Like I said, opinions are welcome but there are some individuals who use nearly every thread to moan about the looks (example: dark color is the way to go to hide the ugly front)
This is just nonsense and doesn't give any value to a conversation.

And the looks has been discussed over a thousand time's there are even official threads for it. If someone wants to express he doesn't like then OK, I just don't see the point in doing it.

Example from me:
I don't like the new designs of Cupra, VW and whatever with this one monobrow on the front or rear.
Do I go now to the boards from these cars to say how ugly it is?
Na, I just don't like them. Would I have considered buying one of these if I liked the design? maybe, but I went for BMW as I like the brand and their design.
Point.

Sure, everyone how he likes it !
You surely didn't do anything wrong with the M2CS, this car is absoloutely amazing and maybe in the future if my financial situation allows it I will permit myself one as a second car. But until then I can "only" afford one, and this will be the G80.

I get everything I want in one. Fun, practicallity, passion. The M2CS would be more "raw" but less practical for my needs.

So congrats to your purchase, i'm damn sure you smile all the time sitting in that beast !

If I had to scale down my entire garage to one car. I'm 99% sure it would be a G8X, so I super hear that!

I think the g80 will drive great and somewhat hide its weight - looks are subjective and I’m not a fan of the looks on this car. I don’t hate it on it - I almost bought it instead of my m2 cs. In the end this is a first year model that will be around for years to come. This review is cool and all but let’s be real he isn’t a Chris Harris or Henry catchpole- the g80 will generally be received well but I think to say people don’t like it cause it made their car “old” figuratively and literally is wrong.

The audience and use case for this car has changed from the m3 many people grew up with (e46/e92) - these new m3s are like baby m5s now and if a grand touring car is what you want as a daily driver, I don’t think anyone will do it better than bmw. If you want a purpose built car that’s more nimble get an m2 or a p-car and stop hating on everyone that likes this car. I’m excited to see the reviews and see these on the road.

We must enjoy these ICE cars while we have them - we’re not far the electrification generation and then we’re all fuked anyway!

Yep, in my brief experience it did this extremely well.

That's why you have to go the PCD route if living in the East as the car stays sterile within BMW until the customer takes delivery, dealership never touches the vehicle. Remember that the dealership needs to prep the car and can always claim that the car was selected for a secondary factory inspection if the miles are over 10.

I think thats a lot of the reason why the g80 is the way it is. You want the lighter, smaller car....get the m2cs. You want the big luxury sleeper car...get the M5. Seems like the lineup has a lot less overlap and bmw is trying to get away from being its own biggest competitor.

This angle exacerbates that thought. I'm a fan of the G8x in person. Very modern.

Yeah, I think the need for people to vent is well past its expiry date. The cars looks have been out for months. As you pointed out there is even a dedicated thread now for people to rag on the looks. That should help to keep it out of the enthusiast's threads.

Continuing to show up to vent this late in the game is now just trolling on other enthusiasts. Not cool!

I would never, ever even think about coming into someone's house to piss in their cornflakes while they are enjoying their breakfast, but for some reason people still think it is their right to do so in G80/G82 enthusiast's threads.

Wow. Putting the G80 next to a good looking car really emphasizes how bad it is. No wonder the E9X prices have been going up in recent months. Was hoping to get a G80 for the wife before we saw the car released, maybe F90 instead?
With BMWs design direction and Mercedes making the AMG line into 4cyl hybrids, it seems like Audi is the last hope until some good EV cars are released. Or only used cars now until one day the Taycan Turbo S becomes affordable.

And I remember when I thought my E92 was a big porker, seriously

That said, it may be that many prefer the larger size. I can't imagine BMW is increasing the size for the hell of it. You really have to compare size and weight to contemporary competition. And it is interesting that weight doesn't even seem to be a consideration with electrics; my brother-in-law stopped by to show off his new Taycan the other day and that thing weighs 5k!

This was not a very informative review....but we are so desperate for information after 4 years of watching test mules lol. However, you hit the nail on the head here.

I mean, it's totally OK to not like a look of a car, but why bother taking the time to say how fugly it is?

I never ever came to the idea to go into a FIAT board and moan about the Multipla. Let the people talk about the car who want to share experience about it...I mean if someone points out the technical stuff ok it is a discussion point, but looks is and will always remain a subjective feeling from every individual person.

I love the G8X and I loved the F8X (was about to buy a M2CS and decided for the M3) and everyone can have his/her taste.

You know, it's pretty amazing that BMW isn't the only manufactor out there...you can buy a P-Car, Mercedes, Audi, Alfa, Jaguar or whatever the hell you like! Wonderful, isn't it ?

Just enjoy whatever you have and like and share your passion with people who like it too...

Not that hard imo.
These are the same people who go home and spend time writing restaurant reviews...

Yeah because literally no one modified the F8X to look better.
E46, e9x, and f8x look great out of the box.
As does this, I think it's the best out the box M3 ever.
Rear ends of a car are typically the easy part to design , it's usually the front end where designers make or break a car, the g8x rear has a bomb booty but when she turns around... you get the 10 yard fake out
