Whether a cultural term like woke is positive or negative is in the "eye of the beholder", no matter how strongly you feel about it. Having a strong opinion has caused more trouble on this little earth than plagues or earthquakes. - Voltaire |

It's a small % of a small % of the general population. Nobody driving around in these things and they are still rare to see on the road, and when you do it's sort of cringey moment |

I think you misunderstood. Mainstream consumers by definition means potential consumers of anything commonly available to the masses. Or some variation of that theme. I was intentionally conveying what people who are not auto journalists or M purists think about the design. Not that it really matters, but I did not intend to infer that every single person you run into on the street is a potential buyer of a G8X. Saying it's a cringey moment when "you" (as in, everyone you expected to read your post) drive by one is silly. If you said "and when I do it's sort of a cringey moment", that would be fine, because it's your opinion, which you are fully entitled to. |

Brother from another mother! I also had two F31s before getting an M2. Would have gotten a G81 for sure.
Nice! The M5 Touring is interesting but it will be huge and 50% more expensive than the M3. G81 is the perfect size and price

He's talking about people like me. I used to hate it, now I love it, and now I drive it.

My order is: M3 Competition RWD IOMG with full leather KO buckets. The only thing I didn't pick was ceramic brakes and driving assistant pack PRO becuase I never use it on my 330i. I've had an f82 M4, OG M2 and started with an M235i. Ordered my M3 08/22 and still zero information. |

My name is Phil. I am 44 years old and was born in the UK. I moved to the US when I was two, lived in Philly and Seattle until I was 10, then moved to South Africa for two years until returning back to UK when I was 12. By the time I started secondary school (high school) I had been to 13 different schools. My parents are dual citizens currently living in Arizona, they are due to make a permanent move back to the UK in the next month (this scares me ) My brother lived in Savannah for 8 years and was a green card holder until he was killed there 4 years ago when an 80 yr old decided to do a u-turn on the freeway and my brother on his motorbike rode straight into him. When I was 16 I got a girl pregnant, we were both drunk, we didn't really know each other, she had him when we were 17. He is 26 now and I still call him 'Captain' When I was 20 my g-f cheated on me with one of my best friends. I saw her for the first time in about 8 years a couple weeks ago at my son's football match, we spoke for about 30 mins and laughed together. I have numerous scars on my head, some through actions that were my own fault and some for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. My wife gets severely anxious when I go out to the pub still. These are some of my experiences which have made me who I am and shaped my view of the world. I don't need left or right leaning media and social commentators to tell me what to think or who to hate. For me, the original definition of woke has now been twisted to suit the agenda's of people who are in and/or want power and are trying to provoke cultural wars, ultimately for their own personal gain. PS - I don't watch 'new' TopGear. Freddie is an outstanding sportsman and has overcome some of his demons to start a TV career in his own right, Paddy is a Saturday evening entertainment guy, his best work was on a show called Phoenix Nights, I don't enjoy the chemistry on TopGear. Fully respect Chris but seems like he is the butt of the jokes on TopGear which doesn't seem right. The BBC had to unfortunately get rid of Jeremy because he punched a colleague. I blame Jeremy for that not the BBC, I wish he would stop shooting himself in the foot because I love watching and reading his stuff. Clarkson's Farm is very, very good. PPS - You guys really need to stop hiding behind your guns |

I’m still hoping they release an AWD manual. I’d consider replacing my Porsche 911 that’s awd and manual and daily drive it. I’ve really grown to appreciate all wheel drive (with rear wheel drive bias) on my cars. These allotments and builds are taking a long time these days. Hopefully you have a fun ride to use while you wait. Interesting you jumped into the brand on an m235. This RWD m3 is the antithesis of that model. You’ve really climbed the model line. Not bad at all! I’d say my favorite still is the original M2. Perfect power and size car. |

Hello, Phil. I'm Kevin.

------- OK, back on topic...yes, the G81 is a fine, performance wagon (filled with aggression plus practicality), but I have no need for a performance wagon, or a performance SUV, or even a performance sedan...so I own a G82. Lucky for me, I don't need one car to do it all.

The propaganda here in the UK is rife and causing big divides between friends and family members Yea understand it's not a new concept. Tanks and Flamethrowers I get, I would just rather put our dukes up after a heated disagreement rather then go straight to getting a 9mm cap in my ass Back on topic...? Kudos to BMW for making a version of the G8* that can cater to most people's needs. I would love a saloon/touring as the family wagon but my wife is set on a higher up view of the minions in their MINI's and Ford Fiestas |
