I would have disagreed with the dealer rant some years back but now I unfortunately would agree. At my M dealership, they can barely keep enough technicians on board and are constantly in the need of hiring. Yes, there are still some guys there for a long time but you never know who will do what work unless you ask. It used to be a no brained for me to have my cars serviced with the dealer even after the warranty, they honor BMWCCA discount etc. Maybe a bit pricier but you had peace of mind. Now, that value proposition is pretty much gone.
The same happened on the sales side once they went to commissions only, barely any faces I recognize. The last years didn't help, didn't have to do any selling besides asking "how much over MSRP will you pay"….. End rant (x2) |

There is still added weight on the front axle from a driveshaft which you can feel. As was noted in MT on the xdrive m3: "Jonny Lieberman bemoaned the heft, which he swore he could feel the M3's AWD gear added to the front axle"

My best friend has been a tech for over 25 years. The way techs get paid forces their hand to not do quality work. God forbid your car is at a shop that does not guarantee hours for the tech. He works for LandRover Range Rover… If a car comes in with a warranty lease repair you are getting minimum effort from the tech because warranty work does not pay well. He said 10 to 15 years ago before all the electronics and gizmos an experienced tech was valued and paid well… Not any more. |

Not sure if trolling or serious lol so will put minimal effort in responding. This argument makes no sense as the CSL is significantly more expensive than an m3 xdrive and harder to acquire at that. The M5 is also quite a bit more. So...

Maybe M3 GT, make them all British racing green with the same engine spec and gearbox as the 3.0 CSL?

Now I know that I misidentified the model. It will not be an M3 but the M4 CS, in production 07/24-06/25.

An AWD manual option would be a close second in terms of desirability though. |
