I like it even with a simulated front plate.

I really hope Bmw is doing a vertical looking kidney grill and other designs, this will help prevent m340i owners from rebadging there cars to look like real M cars.

I’m open to seeing the finished product, but if it looked like this, I’m 100% in.

This is terrible lol. It's not your fault though. BMW is putting a boring gaping mouth under the grilles because it's the only shape that will fit under them.

Theoretically speaking, I'd buy that.

Your render really shows how badly BMW missed the mark. They're honestly trying too hard, and are coming out with a polarizing design instead of focusing on moving metal. Someone should be fired.

I think the rear has too much bulk in the bumper/diffusers. Coupled with the thin taillights, it looks like it's sagging. I don't think the M3/4 has had a nice rear design since the e46 though, so take that for what you will lol.

This guy!

He's the director of design their, also the real culprit of the bangle butt.....don't understand how you get nice designs like the new 8 series then jump the shark with your bread and butter 4 series.

BMW's really gone south on their design language and just got busy and messy. Sure they perform but auto design as a whole has gone south.

Hell I'm liking the simplicity and form language of Mercedes more and more and if never thought I'd say that!

Still Audi has some very nice RS models that are tasteful but even they have some strangely executed designs.

Maybe I'm just getting old! Lol....

I prefer the last rendering. The grill on the OP looks Audi to me 🤢. Why BMW leaves their iconic vertical grills | | | and put in horizontal??

Back looks too much like Alfa Giulia 🤔

After all I expect the final version will be much much better. Just my 2cents.

I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

BMW, I hope you're listening. First, fire your design staff, hire this guy. Second, burn all the current G80 jigs and build this render instead.

I can see where they grab things from their history but maybe their grabbing the wrong ones.... it's nice to look way back and see where their trying to get something that they can build on that's theirs but it has to be a winner... not these obscure rarities that's not on anyone's radar that always looked off.
