While this render looks great, it definitely falls under the "same old same old" category.

Both renders look like the M2 and the M8’s front end had babies.

Which isn’t bad for 2019 but not enough for 2021 and beyond. Particularly when people complain that all the cars look the same.

I hate the grills too but these corrected renders are a snooze fest.

I'd have to agree.

I'm fully backing the m8 front end.

i just had some fun and took a 20min trash stab at embracing the grill...

Inspiration was e30m3 / E9
•Tall skinny grill
•Vents between grill and headlights

Made this stuff up...
•Dynamic bumper
•Dual hood intakes
•Carbon flipper things
•Its an M3/4 so wider damn fenders!

Its a bit busy... but was fun for 20mins!
now that i look at it... its kinda a Alfa Romeo GTV vibe happening too.

But those renders look like an evolution of a BMW design.

The coffin grills don't look like a BMW. It looks more like an Alfa than a BMW. That's not a good thing.

This new design is not recognizable as a BMW except for the damn badge. That's dumb.

Yes, I know it sounds crazy but does it make ANY FK SENSE for BMW to keep Designing uglier and uglier bonnets????? Nope.
Took me one minute to draw that elementary design, I know it’s for laughs but I will take my snout over that Render any day 😈 🤟🏻....<—-Yeah, Call me BMW, You need help, I did draw that, in the men’s Bath.....💩
And that's why you're the one sitting in the men's bath doing elementary level scribbles of BMW models and actual designers are heading one of the biggest premium car companies in the world.

Still don‘t know why BMW can‘t make a big grill which looks decent and not totally out of place or proportions. I agree that Audi has some advance here but it looks so much better.

I think the bottom one has M-mirrors though, but its hard to tell, but you can see the top of the mirror housing extends out further than the rest of the mirror.

I was thinking bottom is M because the bumper seems more aggressive

Just doesn't work for kidneys, not if you need a front license plate. Has to be fully open like Audi's and can't be too busy around it. Otherwise I would say it could work if they were just cleaner looking and a little smaller. But too much of the world needs front plates, so overlapping the kidneys just can't look good IMO.
