I am new to the forum, so first time posting, but up for meeting Sunday. I have a Dravit Grey G80 - picked it up from Motorwerks a month or so ago.

Yea I just saw that. I just dropped the car off today to get the rest of the ppf and ceramic done. Pick it up Monday. Oof!

I expect to see more of you up in Brainerd next year as it was only two of us this year. The BMW club puts up a great event where you can experience more of what your car is capable of.

My build was complete 9/26, sitting stuck in Awaiting Carrier Assignment for now. Hopefully things will start to move along soon.

I'd be definitely up for Brainerd event. Do they require certain prior training to be allowed in, or is it open for all?

For the BMW CCA event, no prior training necessary but they do have car control clinics at DCTC that could be helpful. Also Motorwerks is an awesome sponsor of the event (why I got my car from them) by having a large group of techs available to fix any car issues. This year my track car had a problem on the Friday so I drove home to get the G80. They bled the brakes with good fluid and off I went.

But you don't need anything special to prepare your car. Even stock brakes and fluid will get you pretty far and I can bring spare brake pads just in case.

Biggest hassle is getting a helmet but that's relatively easy. You can get fitted for a helmet and buy or rent one at Race Suit Rentals/Speedy Race Gear in St. Paul.

I picked up my G80 from motorwerks at the end of November. I kept looking on the Midwest forum for my MN boys and here y’all are! I’m hoping to do my first track day in this thing next summer and it would be super cool to go with some fellow M3/M4 owners!

My G80 finally arrived at Motorwerks, naturally on sticky Michlin tires.
If anybody local has a set of winter wheels/tires or even just rims that they might be looking to sell, let me know.

FWIW dealer can source only 1 set of 829M's, with Pirelli winters.

That might be the same set they tried to sell me in November. They had a used set with one season (~5000 miles) on them for $2800. I ended up building a winter set with VMR wheels and Blizzaks for around $2500 all in (needed spacers & TPMS sensors as well). I’m pretty happy with my setup other than the fact that the service department balanced them incorrectly the first time and caused my steering wheel to go out of alignment.

Thanks for the tip, but I since found a person in WI with a set so will be taking a ride there in a couple of weeks and then looking forward to some sunny days to take it for a spin.
