Make sure you code out ASD too, in combination with an aftermarket exhaust it even worse than stock.

I quite like the ASD on the M4. Fits the car well.

I was just debating on that this morning during school drop off.

I had no issues with ASD before but I think it might be a bit too much in combination with the Remus.

Sounds like the perfect time to put them to work...one drives the car, one pilots the drone...and you supervise! What could possibly go wrong?
At 5 & 7 years old, sounds like a disaster in the making. Besides, I already know the first thing out of the girls' mouths tomorrow morning when I fire up the car: "Dad! It's too loud!"

Wife is also probably going to kill me when she gets back.

We're going to need video, and drone footage. I know, Im needy.
Haha. I'm solo parenting this week so time will be very short for videos.
It'll take a little while to break in, anyway. Probably get a little louder around the 700 mile mark.
Oh boy…good for me, bad for the others in this house!

It sounds so good! My G80 finally sounds better than my G01 X3 M40i. In Sport+ with the valves fully open, sounds amazing. Lots of burbles.

In fact it's so loud I can't even hear the wonderful sounds of the Eventuri intake. Only here and there I was able to get some of the nice woosh sound of the intake. Lol.
car looks dope as hell man

This generation of M3/4 vastly improved the ASD over the previous. I considered keeping it as well. however, I tried it out just to see and ended up keeping if off.

Bimmercode and bimmerlink both do it.

What bit about having it switched off do you prefer? (Still waiting on my car to arrive so I haven't experienced ASD fully).

Oh it works now? Last I heard, you had to have a beta version and that it would come back, but at a much lesser volume.

Hmmmm… I haven't noticed. I'll have to check on that. Is that for both bimmercode and bimmerlink apps? Does it indicate it as off even though it's not?

It's more mental, knowing what I hear isn't artificial. In the F80 is was quite aggressive and made me feel like I was punishing the car when I wasn't.

This was specific to bimmercode only. There is a thread on adding a trunk sub that people complained the active sound would come out of there subwoofers making the car sound like a V8! I guess it was SUPER LOUD coming out of the subs. Im pretty sure someone said they turned it off but it came back. Just at a lessor volume.

I was going to add a trunk sub (I have one from my F80 days laying around) and I like active sound, but dont want it coming out of my subs.

So I dont know what to do. Id disable it to add a sub. But if it comes back, I would rather not add the sub. I like the sound, but not out of my woofer. Its either on with no sub. Or off with a sub for me.

You should definitely disable ASD. I have it disabled and my exhaust is much louder with no secondary cats. ASD + Remus exhaust w/ no cats = drone.

In the previous post you mentioned you can't hear the intake. I'm a bit surprised. I have the BMS intake and mine sounds much louder than before after I changed out the exhaust. I hear the intake and exhaust from my car, they are both much pronounced. Maybe that's how the eventuri sounds with the closed off design compared to BMS?

Posting the clips again for those who haven't heard it.

Gave up on cleaning off the pollen & construction dust, my next door neighbor is getting his balcony fixed. It'll be another week of this nonsense, our HOA has my balcony on schedule next😞.

I might go play with BimmerCode today or tomorrow and code it off.

I mean, my hearing does kind of suck from all the concerts I've been to over the years…but I seriously rarely hear the intake as the exhaust (or perhaps the ASD?) over powers it most of the time.

I have tinnitus and hearing loss from playing in a band and firearms... I feel you. At least it makes me less selective about car audio systems. They all sound like shit now.

You may have over sensitive hearing lol. When I disabled ASD my exhaust sounded quiet inside with the stock cats. It was definitely audible from the outside. I had to delete the cats to get some sound in the cabin. Possible what you might think is the exhaust is just ASD?

You should definitely be hearing the intake regardless of ASD or not. Curious what others have to say with the eventuri intake.

Oh yes it is. FOR SURE. Bimmercode give you many adjustments. Being able to change your interior lighting, top or bottom to whatever color you want. Removing the navi warning, trunk pop and CLOSE with keyfob. The list goes on and on.

I would suggest you get a BMW enet cable and rj45 to lighting (if you have iphone) to do the flashing. Its almost instant. The WIFI and or BT ones are not nearly as fast.

What Bigworm said is spot on. Bimmerlink is more for diagnostics, sensor readings, read codes etc. you can reset your rear parking brake if you work on your own brakes, turn off ASD etc

Bimmercode is everything to do with the iDrive and electronics in the car. It also allows you to turn of ASD.
