I received a call from a dealer today with an allocation based out of the southeast. I had been on a waitlist for a while and had found a different one since then. So I currently don't have a need for this allocation. Some other members had posted they would pay 500$ finders fee for it, so I reached out to them and haven't heard back yet. The car is at MSRP. PM me if you are serious and interested and ok with the $500 finders fee. The dealership would need a decision by 7pm today or they will move on to the next person on the list.

Is the unit already spec'd? It seems shady if the dealer is allowing you to pass off the allocation and letting someone cut the line if they have others on the waitlist...

Allocations are transferred all the time.

I get that it happens all the time, and when allocations are plentiful no one cares. To each their own, but wouldn't sit right if I'm the next person in line, whose probably been waiting months in the current environment, and someone can just jump in line. If the car were already spec'd that's a different story, but IMO if it's a fresh allocation and the dealer cares about doing right by their customers they would give it to the next person in line.

Also would completely understand if this is the only way for OP to get a deposit back, but that wasn't mentioned.

I can't pm because I have a new account but I am very interested. Can the car be reconfigured to a base 6MT or is it only a comp model ?

Any M3 allocation can be configured as base, comp rwd/awd before it hits status 150.
