825M, 826M and 827M wheels in lighter colors

So, I have decisions to make soon regarding my wheels. I currently have the orbit gray 825M for winter and the bi-color 826M for summer. I like both wheels in terms of design, but they are both just too dark for me. And then there are the 827M which also tempt me, but of course these are also dark/black (except the gold version, but that does not fit perfectly with Skyscraper IMHO).

No matter which 2 of the 3 choices I go for, I'd have to powdercoat them in a lighter color either way. But the problem is that hardly any or very few photos exist of either of those wheels in a lighter color, so it's really hard to decide which wheels I should go for.

Therefore my request: please post any photos you have or you can find of these 3 wheels in lighter colors (silver, light gray etc, uni-color or bi-color). If possible mounted on the car. Or if you have one of these wheels in a lighter color yourself, then all the better, bring on the pics!

And of course, the Photoshop aficionados are also welcome to help. I'm happy to send photos which could be edited to get an idea.

I believe a silver 826 would look amazing on ssg. I’m going to wait until after bimmer Invasion before I take the plunge

I would also like to see this combination. I hate black wheels on "live" colors on BMW, it just closes car....

I am not sure if you are asking for a collage of pictures lined up, or if you just wanted pictures of the rims you mentioned. None the less, I have 825M Bi-Color on TZII. Here is a photo of moderatley clean wheels in direct sunlight. Based on some of the other threads I read when specing this one, the 825 bi-color are regarded as the "shiniest" BMW wheels. That is subjective of course, but I wanted a bright rim on the TZ and this seemed the right combo.

It was basically meant mainly for the 3 wheels mentioned, although photos with other silver wheels are always welcome since they are unfortunately rare. And I agree that the bi-color 825M wheels are the brightest standard G8X wheels, they go very well with TB.

You will probably be right, unfortunately. Which is also confirmed by the response so far. It is completely incomprehensible to me that this seems to be something so unusual. I mean it's not like I ask for wheels in a green-orange color combination or something crazy.

All other brands have silver and/or light gray wheels, such as AMG and Porsche (the wheel selection of the 992 consists mostly of light colored wheels). But for some reason BMW M currently offers almost only black/dark wheels, which is not everyone's taste. I have the general impression that especially in North America black wheels have been a trend for a few years now. All that makes it very difficult for all other people who prefer OEM wheels in light colors and don't want to look for aftermarket solutions.

I know I've seen an all silver 826M wheel on the forum, somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

Like you, I have SSG and 826M wheels in bi-color. They may as well call them black. They always look dirty since they're so dark. I had a guy wash the car. We were talking about wheels and I told him I don't like black wheels. He asked why I got black wheels for my car. I told him they're supposed to be bi-color. We both laughed. In addition, they are nightmare to clean!

I'm looking at another set that is both silver and easier to clean. I'm wondering if the 825M wheels are easier to clean. Personally, I'm not crazy about the design - I don't think they look aggressive enough. But, at least they're shiny!

Here it is:

Are those a matte/satin finish?

The finish on those looks better than the finish on the BSM car in the thread.

Do you know the owner? Do you have a way to have access to some pics when these bad boys are mounted on the car?

I think they could look very good with the right finish.

They are not. Probably the hardest to clean of any car I have owned. Plus the fact they are the shinest of the BMW rims makes the dirt show up even quicker. One drive after cleaning and you can see the brake dust already.

Great. I was contemplating getting the 825M wheels. I've cleaned my 826M wheels twice and it's a nightmare. I've had plenty of cross-spoke wheels over the years - DPE, HRE and BBS. I could always find some sort of pattern when it comes to cleaning them. For some reason, I can't with the 826M wheels. There are so many nooks and crannies in those wheels!

Add to the above that the wheels always look dirty - even when they're clean (exaggerating a tiny bit), and they're basically black. The thing with black wheels is as dust accumulates, they become brown-ish. Drives me nuts!

I feel your pain. In full disclosure I have only attempted cleaning 825s, the 826s may be harder and you will have a perception of "this is not bad". But I doubt it.
