Is the price any different from whats quoted on the website ? Or do they throw in more add ons etc ?
Depends on if there's an offer at the time you order. Kevin matched a Black Friday deal for me when I ordered last Nov.

I think it just depends. If you are only seeing 40inches of snow a year then it may make sense with A/S. The issue with A/S in my opinion is they are not as good in snow as dedicated winters or in warmer conditions in the summer, so I prefer to run dedicated setups.

I know the snow has a lot to do with it but road temps also play a role in stopping distances and dedicated winters will stop a lot better on the cold wet pavement than A/S would.

After more reading. now I'm switching gears again and thinking of going a different route. I decided to buy a new set of 826Ms (in black) to mix things up a bit (not really feeling the bicolor chrome 825Ms i ordered it with after seeing my black M5 wheel on the car, it looks a little more aggressive and less like an M440) but I'm torn on which type of tire now.

I've ran all-seasons on both my B8 RS5 and my F90 M5 Comp (the tires on the M5 Comp were from the Audi only 2k miles and a perfect square set up 275-30-ZR20, albeit 20"), hence why I went with them on my leased M5 and just mounted them on a reasonable set of wheels. (I also had the X1 for snow/rain duty which I just sold) so that wheel set was just to stretch the M5's legs every so often on nice dry days.

The G82 Cx I own now and no winter warrior X1 in the picture anymore, so it will be a daily driver. Still scratching my head over a square 19" winter tire setup or OEM staggered A/S Conti DWS 06+ as a 2nd set to change things up a bit

If I went with the 19" Square, I'd definitely go with those great looking VMR wheels, but then I couldn't use them other than winter. We've had relatively winters here recently.

How do winter tires perform when we get stretches of warm weather in between the cold like last year?

Decisions decisions..

If you are using it as a Daily, I would go with winters rather than A/S esp since you dont have ur X1 anymore to drive in snow storms. I think i would rather take the chance on being stuck in a freak snow storm in May with summers (and not drive ur car that day) vs using ur A/S for the whole winter as ur daily. Just my 2 cents

I would just move to a place where you don't have to worry about it. I run the same tires, all year around. Ok, well, I don't drive the car in the rain, to be fair.

Thanks and noted! Yes, we've always had 3 cars for a while and the pleasure cars never saw rain or snow but we recently downsized as it's just her and I now most of the time. My wife is usually home and has her Mercedes C450 4matic sedan if weather gets bad, that would probably be the car of choice now for inclement weather. She's looking at either a new Mercedes EQB or a Model Y but not until early next year. The Merc has been a very good car. Still has low miles.

Of course we don't see the winter storms here on the east coast like up north, but we do get that random nor'easter

Wait, I heard it never rains in California? lol Yep, that's enevitably the plan. Somewhere warm with RWD, A/S tires and she wants a convertible. For now, I owe, I owe so it's off to work I go in rain/sleet or snow. WFH 2 days at least now, the other3 in the office 😁 (still can't get my dang bpost emojis bar to show so stuck with the android keyboard stills!🥵😡🤬 )

Yep, New England probably gets a bit more for sure😁 but here in the tri-state, we don't get many a bad nor'easter very often recently. That was probably that one just after New Year's last January.

For reference, i did drive a 700hp+ C7Z in winter with PSS summer tires and cup2 tires lol. I don't garage my cars but i do take them out all year around. And in winter i just take those types of cars out when it's not actually snowing. If it's raining i'll still take the cars out.

So i can manage but since this M3 is a lease, i want to make use of all the 30k miles. My previous leases i always gave the car back with 8-10k left.

I don't want to do that with this M3. When i give the car back i want as close to the mileage limit as possible. So i want a proper tire that will handle any winter conditions, even snow. I have A/S on my C7Z now and it still sucks in winter. A bit better than the summers obviously but i guess for a car like that, no tire will help it during winter.

NJ doesn't get bad winters, especially in recent years but it's unpredictable. We could get our first snowstorm in mid january, then it'll be non stop snow storms one after another until mid march lol. So i want to be prepared to drive this car no matter what weather condition this winter. I have the RWD comp btw, not the x-drive.

I wish i got the x-drive.

Winter of 2015 was a pisser up here. That's over 4 feet of standing snow near that 6 ft. fence on the left by the arborvitaes (no drifts). We had over 9 feet of snow total for the season that year....

Yes, I made that mistake with the F90 M5 Comp LCI. I leased her with the intent of buying her back. We had just closed on a new construction house the day before I took delivery of the M5 so I switched to a lease.

The car was big, but a blast to drive with the 630HP and AWD. She was a spoiled garage queen though that only came out to play on sunny days (she never saw any snow or rain). She did have a fun trip in late November down BMW Spartanburg Performance Center for a 1 day M School and 1/2 day new owner event and to friends in Asheville, but I rarely drove her in the Winter and I really regret not driving that car more. She was a fantastic beast, but I didn't use 50% of the power or the tech.

The market changed, G8x xDrive came out and the dealer was offering me $10+k to get out of the M5 (9k miles) early on a pre-trade ( yes, on the lease!) and had an open allocation for a 6/22 build from a cancel so it was a no brainer. I babied that M5 thinking I was going to buy it at lease end. Things change.

Drive it as much as you can. My G82 I bought so I have plenty of time...

I’m a v8 guy at heart so I’ll always prefer an m5.

I just chose the m3 because it’s my first m car, my first bmw and I didn’t want to go all out. I don’t even have any options on my comp. It’s bare bones lol. I felt like it I wanted to spend more i would’ve gotten the m5 instead. But I didn’t want to break the bank on the lease knowing I would have eventually gotten my Tesla which I did in spring and my 2 c8’s that’ll come in 2023. So I was planning ahead.

None of my cars get pampered persay. They’re out there in the jungle lol

You're going to be in V8 heaven soon! Lucky man! The F90 M5 was my 2nd V8, the first was a 2015 B8 RS5 (4 2L NA V8). I miss the sound and the pull of it but it was a little too big for my needs among other things. A friend at work has an orange Jaguar FType SVR and it sounds glorious. In a perfect world, I'd like at least 3 toys and a utility car: a sledgehammer V8 coupe, a scalpel lightweight 6 and a nice GT car for longer trips.. Some kind of sporty utility SAV for crappy weather & Home Dept runs would complement the trio (hmmm, X3M?) Maybe when I retire somewhere warm with a larger driveway (or at least parking garage).

My wife is ok with my current enthusiast level now, but she believes more in appreciating assets like houses rather than new cars, unfortunately. I'd prefer the 4 cars over a new house with no mortgage but she won. (A kid in Yale also makes things a little tight!).

Yeah i love my V8's lol. Been with them for more than 2 decades now. I fucking love them. The sound, some sound better than others, is what makes me want to have at least one V8 car.

I do kinda wish i went with the M5 instead. But the timeline for the cars i want is unpredictable that i didn't want to be stuck with something i would regret. I don't regret the M3, it's a fucking killer car. I just wish it had a V8 instead LOL

I don't have a wife or kids so my disposable income goes to my cars. I already have 2 properties so i think i'm ok.

Nice! You can always go out and get an E92 M3 with the 4L S65 V8 (a little low on the torque though). Another buddy at work has an 08 E92 M3 in Mineral gray on Coral? red. Still grabs attention today. This was it next to my M5 at the office lot one day. I also had an E92, but a 335i xdrive coupe in LeMans Blue with a Dinan tune. That was a fun car.

That's funny you mention the E92 i was watching some videos on that this past weekend and i was telling my brother how that car could be like the german corvette of the C6 days.

My friend had a 335I. He beat the fuck out of that car for 2 years, put like 50k miles. The car never skipped a beat aside from frequent trips to the dealer for the HPFP lol. But other than that, i think he changed his oil once in those 2 years and he would literally go WOT from every light and stop sign. He didn't care at all about the car but he did love it. Car was a beast.

******

To get back on topic. Does anyone know if we can use the factory lug nuts if we go with aftermarket wheels? IE: VMR?

Do you have factory or aftermarket lug nuts?

I think I might have dodged the HPFP by 1 MY. I had a 2011 (they switched from the N54 single scroll to the N55 dual scroll that year). The N54 engine was so easy to over-tune, if there is such a thing. The guy with the 08 E92 had a tuned 07 135i with the N54 before that. He wrecked it! It went off the road on 78 in the rain.

Has anyone been able to find aftermarket wheels that match the OEM spec of 19x9.5 fronts and 20x10.5 rears in the 5x112 bolt pattern? Most packages come with 19x9.5 and make u go with a square set. I was hoping to do all seasons and go with the oem set up incase i need to use the A/S as spare when running summers and vice versa. VMR and Apex wheels dont have the 20x10.5.

No. I just gave up and ordered an OEM staggered set of jet black 826Ms from evan@tischer (getbmwparts) today.
