Would like to know more pl. Do they lose the performance or make the car unstable ? Wont the winters be shredded if in run them when its warmer than 40F?

He's from Canada....so I bet he'll say the A/S are crap in the Winter, and suck during the Summer.

This is why many like myself have two different season dedicated wheels/tires, so we keep the OEM performance in the Summer.

I don't play out in the white stuff if I can help it, so A/S tires during the Winter is enough for me, and stay close to the original handling.

And also looking for recommendations on what tires you went with. For all seasons im looking at the Michelin Pilot A/S vs continental DWS and currently inly looking at Michelin ICE for winters. All seasons and they worked fine for me over the winter here in nyc

I’m about to place my order for a winter wheel set but don’t know if I should just do winter tires or go with all seasons. I have other cars to use but I would still like to use this car as a car since it’s a lease lol.

I have all seasons on the c7z and while the power level is so much higher than the m3, all season tires really blow lol, In all seasons.

for you guys that swap tires out (and don't DIY) - do you schlep the tires back and forth in your car? Or does your shop store the alternate set of tires for you? I've always run all-seasons all year round - this car will be the first that I will swap summer for AS in winter & vice-versa in the summer - but I REALLY don't want to be schlepping tires back and forth myself...

I run my stock summers the pirellis until October/November then winters until about April. So far the winters I have aren't wearing down ridiculously fast. The feel of the car is so much better on the star Bmw Tires I wouldn't recommend compromising for all seasons.

I've shleped for ten years. I wrap in a black bag put one in front seat, two in back, one in trunk. I store in my garage. I enjoy it. I'm weird.

I have a dedicated winter set (Michelin PA5) but depending on your usage of the vehicle it may not be necessary. Of course make sure you don't drive on summers when its below 45 degrees. I store at home and change my own wheels.

I have a basement where I can store my wheel sets, and a driveway to switch out for the change of seasons, but for the people who schlep, have you thought about getting these tire bags? Makes schlepping them around a bit easier and helps keep the interior clean....

+1 on the Goodyear. I never would have thought they would be on par, if not better, than a Michelin. Compared to the AS3+ I had, the exhilarate was top notch.

It's either his or the DWS 06 for me.

I think it depends on how much ice and snow you see, and if you daily your car. Personally for me I live in a ski town so it's a no brainer to run dedicated winters. I think if you see moderate amounts of snow and don't have a lot of problems with black ice you can get away with all seasons, which as others have said have come a long way in recent years.

Nothing works on black ice except studded tires or chains.

Any chance you can fit 2 tires in the trunk and 2 in the back? Im planning on doing PCD delivery with my wife in late winter and swapping out my summer tires with A/S before I drive back. Can i fit all 4 without using the front passenger seat ?

2 in the trunk is impossible with the wheel/tire width. I put 3 in back and one in trunk.

I think that view is outdated, the tire compound is more of a differentiator than if it's studded or not. My point above is I'd rather be on dedicated winter tires than all seasons because they perform better in icy conditions, that's a fact. Here's a comparison....

It's possible. I mean if the seats fold 60/40 it may work even better.

Trust me, no way to get 2 in the trunk. They are too wide to stack and the diameter too large to put more than one. You need to fold both seats to get space to put them in the back and even then you can just barely close the doors. At least I did not have to adjust the front seats, so could still drive in comfort with a passenger. Could possibly sneak a duffle bag in the trunk, and use the space behind the seats under the wheels for a couple of small backpacks.

With an M3, you can get 3 in the rear seat and 1 in the trunk. M4 might be trickier.

From my experience here in southeast PA, I typically have separate setups for winter and 3-season use. Over the years, I have used both dedicated "winter performance" rubber and DWS/DWS+ all season rubber, on both RWD and AWD, and I can barely tell the difference in winter/ice performance between the "winter performance" and DWS. Keep in mind I'm only out in a few inches, and certainly not when it's crazy out. But honestly, I can tell very little difference. For those in more hazardous winter conditions, a dedicated "snow/ice" tire makes more sense and will likely be night and day to "winter performance" but at the trade off of dry/cold performance. So unless you need to drive in treacherous winter conditions, DWS make more sense to me compared to "winter performance" bc of some of the following reasons: cheaper; better availability (just wait when that winter performance is sold out for the season); slightly better dry/cold performance, less wear, better suited for wide temp variations (particularly those odd warmer days), and no rush to install/uninstall.

Love these, keep them clean and organized. Looks better stacked in the corner versus garbage bags!
